A Bristol blue and white delftware 'Electioneering' plate: inscribed 'Rolle for Ever' within a Merryman wreath cartouche, early 18th century, 21 cm diameter [minor chips and glaze losses to rim].* Note The Rolles of Stevenstone near Torrington were one of the leading landowning families of Devon and represented several Devon constituencies in Parliament. The present inscription could refer to one of two campaigns for election. The first in 1722 when John Rolle stood against three other candidates for the seat of Exeter and the second in 1741 when his son Henry stood for Barnstaple. They were both successful with Henry unopposed.Cf. Lincoln Halliman 'British Commemoratives' for a similar example and other delftware electioneering plates.

A Charles Heathcote & Co. pottery dinner service: in the Cambria pattern transfer decorated and enamelled with a seated Chinaman supporting two exotic birds amongst flowers and foliage, comprising a draining meat plate, strainer, six graduating serving dishes, twenty seven dinner plates, thirteen soup plates, fifteen smaller plates, soup tureen and cover, two vegetable dishes and covers, and two sauce tureens, covers and stands, printed marks and Prince of Wales plumes, 1818 - 24, [some damages and repairs].

A large Liverpool [Richard Chaffers] blue and white bell-shaped mug: painted with pierced rockwork, a large moth, chrysanthemum spray and bamboo below a lattice border, on spreading stepped base, circa 1765, 16.5 cm [some firing discolouration and related damage, two small filled chips to rim].*Note Cf. Maurice Hillis 'Liverpool Porcelain 1756-1804' pages 176/7 plates 5.69 and 5.71.
