An unusual Chinese Famille Rose vase, decorated with butterflies, Yonghzeng mark, 19th century.The vase is a rare model decorated with butterflies, small insects and various flowers. On the base with a 4-caracter Yongzheng mark. The vase was made during the 19th century, but with an 18 century mark. A similar model was sold at Freeman's/Hindman auction, on April 13th, 2022, Lot 7. Condition report: The vase is in overall good condition. No hairlines or restorations have been found. The firing pin has been cutaway and currently the rifle will not fire, a substitute firing pin from another Berthier was used in order to get the gun through proof. The bore is dark and pitted, most of the rifling can be seen but there is some surface rust visible around the muzzle area of the bore where the rifling looks faint. The stock is free from damage or repair, there are lots of dents, scratches and marks.

Steyr 8x60R M.1886 Portuguese Kropatschek bolt action rifle, serial number T460 (various other numbers to the bolt) 32.5inch barrel secured by two barrel bands and nosecap housing a bayonet lug, folding ladder sight and under barrel tubular magazine and side mounted cleaning rod, the receiver stamped with Portuguese crest and model designation, the stock also stamped with the royal crest. Together with a canvas sling and a bayonet and scabbard. Section 58(2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, photo ID will be required if this lot is to be posted out.132cm long The gun is in typical dark used condition these Kropatschek rifles are often found in. The whole rifle would benefit from a full strip and overall. The metalwork to the exterior of the gun has some light pitting throughout and the blued finish is wearing through in places. The bore is dirty and needs a good scrub out, it appears in fair order with all the rifling pattern remaining but there are some light pitting patches appearing as dark speckling. These might be accumulated dirt and could clean up. The action works correctly with a positive lock-up. The feeding ram seems to jump up and down as it should with the bolt. There are lots of dents and marks to the wood stock which can be seen from the images. There is some heavy corrosion to the butt plate, and wear to the impressed roundel on the stock. The bayonet has some heavy wear to the wood grips and the some overall light pitting and surface corrosion. There are small dents to the scabbard.

The bore has light pitting throughout but a fairly strong rifling pattern remains showing signs of moderate wear. The original blued finish and colour case hardening is showing signs of wear. The action works correctly with a positive lock-up. The stock has been sanded and refinished, leaving the stamped marks lighter than they should normally be.
Extremely rare pair of German WWII 7x50 U-Boat binoculars, first model stamped with manufacturer code BLC for Carl Zeiss, numbered 2160518 and 38704, stamped with a eagle and swastika and M, IV/1. with rubber eyepiece coveres and leather strap.20.5cm long The binoculars show signs of a hard-working life. The rubber eyepiece covers have both detached from the central spine and the leather strap has broken. The finish has many losses and wear. The rubber covers at the front of the binoculars are cracking around the edges. Looking at the Ocualar lenses, the right and lens has a scratch to the surface, outside this i cannot see any obvious damage or blooming. The large lenses both have internal streak lines on the left hand side, these lines criss-cross from side to side, on the right hand side, the mark is an oval shape. Two extra images have been uploaded to try and illustrate this. There are some small spots that can be seen inside both large lenses, this could be fungus. Both screws on the top plates turn and the lenses can be seen moving up and down. The right hand screw lacks the end cap.

With a modern good quality leather sling. Section 58(2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. The bore has a very strong rifling pattern with no signs of pitting. There is some small very light fresh corrosion spots that can be seen in the chamber, on the hammer, and breech face and just ahead of the chamber in the start of the rifling. This would probably clean off with ease. The bluing has largely worn off the barrel but traces remain, there are some light scratches to the metal finish. The rear sight is a modern replacement. The stock has been lightly sanded and refinished at some point in the gun’s history as the stamped markings are lighter than they should be. There is some very light pitting to the cleaning rod and to the butt plate. The middle barrel band has a vacant screw hole where a long range sight bead would have sat.

Buyer must be over the age of 18.75cm long The gun is in average condition but it has been cleaned and polished up throughout. The metalwork to the exterior of the gun has some overall pitting, there has been an attempt to improve this by polishing which has largely worked but it has left some marks faint. The bore is in fair order with all the rifling pattern remaining but there are some pitting patches throughout similar to that seen on the outside of the gun. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring The stock has a spliced in repair by the barrel band where the ramrod channel would be if there was a ramrod, there is a crack running out from this repair, as well as a crack to the wood in front of the trigger guard, there are some dents and scratches.

The safety works correctly although its is of the frustrating Marlin design which blocks the hammer from reaching the firing pin but still allows the hammer to fall when the trigger is pulled. The stock is free from damage or repair. There are some small marks to the wood but nothing defacing. The metal finish is good with only very minor signs of wear.

We have not tested the gun with live ammo so cannot reliability. The stock has some scratches and dents but no splits or repairs.

The barrel is in proof and there are no dents visible. The bore is clean but there is a couple of corrosion patches. The metal finish externally is worn and there is some light corrosion patches scattered throughout. There is a small amount of wobble between barrel and action. The action does not feed correctly with snap caps, this might be due to the short length of the snap caps. We have not tested the gun with live ammo so cannot reliability. The pistol grip has to fault lines to underside which follow the grain line, the woodwork appears stable in this area and this may just be cosmetic. There is a chip to the corner of the forend where it meets the action. There are quite a few scratches and dents from use. The varnish to the woodwork shows signs of wear.

The case measures 37.5cm x 19.5cm The gun is in good general condition with a good amount of blue remaining and showing light signs of age and use. The bore shows small signs of use but a good strong rifling pattern is present with just some small patches of pitting dotted around, the worst being a ring of pitting towards the muzzle. The insides of the cylinders also have some scattered pitting marks.The blued finish is showing signs of wear in places such as the cylinder, right hand side of the frame, grip straps, and muzzle. The trigger guard has been reblued.There is some light surface speckling to the polished parts.The action works correctly with good timing, lock-up and a strong spring.The grip is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches.Some screw heads show signs of being worked. The case has lots of dents, scratches and marks. It is structurally sound but the two rear corner joints are very slightly separating in small areas, this however does not affect the working of the box. There is a very slight warp to the lid but it shuts flat. The key does not work the lock but it cannot be removed. The lining to the inside has some spotted staining, it is worn through to the wood in small areas and there is a chip to the wood in one place. The section of lining which holds the screwdrivers is loose. The powder flask has a small dent and some scrapes and marks. The spring from the catch is missing. The bullet mould has lots of dents, scratches and signs of use, there is pitting to the steel sprue plate.

The action functions with a strong positive lock up and feels like it has not done a large amount of work. The striker fires with a strong sounding spring. The bore is excellent with no pitting or faults and a crisp rifling pattern. The bluing is generally all present with a small amount of wear, there is some very light corrosion spots but these are fairly minor. The butt plate has a fair amount of surface corrosion. The butt stock has its original finish but the forend has been sanded and refinished leaving the stamped markings lighter than they should be. There are scratches and dents overall but not splits or repairs.

The bore is virtually mint with only a small amount of very minor frosting spots just ahead of the chamber. The action works correctly with a positive lock-up and strong spring. The metal finish has some wear but a fair amount of blue remains. There is some light speckled pitting to the trigger guard and butt plate. The butt stock has some shakes (shrinkage splits present from when the wood was worked) There is a small dented or damaged area to the tip of the comb of the stock which could look like a split from the images but it is not. The wood stock is free from breaks or repairs, there are some dents and marks. The bayonet is in a much more worn condition with overall light pitting and some corrosion. The leather scabbard has a fold mark around the midpoint and there are some scratches dents and marks. The sling is perishing in quite a few areas and has broken at the top where there is a button retainer.

The stock has a very short split at the rear tang, outside this it is free from damage and repair. There are some stains, dents and marks. The cleaning rod is missing.
