A metre steam launch with 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch engine originally commenced in 1907 and finished in 1923. The boat is original with hand built boiler (1/32 thick). The boat has been cleaned and the hull repainted to a high standard but is all original we are told. It has a mahogany clad boiler and single fixed cylinder with link motion reversing gear, water reservoir with hand pump, gearing to twin screws (retro fitted), and has an oak cradle. It is featured in 'The Model Engineer and Electrician' May 1923, with photographs, and was originally intended for charcoal firing, boiler has been tested to 45 psi by vendor. Superb looking model. Scratch built to professional standards, Demonstration Model of a North Western Railway (Liverpool and Manchester) 4-2-2 single driver, locomotive on display track. Loco is mounted with driving wheels proud of the track and with mains electric to drive cylinder-connecting rod and eccentric gears to demonstrate the valve gear, with brass plaques inscribed Cramptons patent, Bury, Curtis and Kennedy Engineers, Liverpool No. 355, loco named 'Liverpool' and mounted on fine polished wood double plinth base. Track gauge 5 inches, base dimensions 140cm x 35cm, very fine engineering (Illus.)
A well built approx 1:4 scale gaff rigged open boat, all wood clinker built hull with varnished spray decks, gunwales, masts and tiller, metal keel, brass deck fittings, 2 cloth sails in poor condition and 2 scale life belts, vendor states it is a model of a Turkish fishing boat built c1940 by her father (Illus.)
A well engineered and detailed model of a 2 inch scale Foden 'D' type steam lorry, model designed to run on gas, the twin horizontal steam power unit has not been steamed, but has run on compressed air, rear mounted water tank with access obtained by rear tip-up body, also drop tailgate, model has been refurnished with added detail, used for static display only, comes with sheet, rope, sacks and sack-barrow.
