A Wooden Painted Cut Out Model of a Shire Horse pull along toy, mounted on wheels, with applied paper label to base ‘Made by disabled Soldiers & Sailors at the ‘Lord Roberts’ memorial workshops London (approx 14inches-36cms long) Field Marshal Lord Roberts, who had won the Victoria Cross in 1857, had long campaigned for more to be done for ex-servicemen, especially those who had been disabled. He took a keen interest in the Workshops and became one of the Trustees.
