A large early 20th century clear glass oil lamp, Messenger's No. 1 Patent Safety, height to top of chimney 95cm.Condition Report: Tarnishing and rubbing to the metal mounts, they were probably silver plated but now mostly rubbed away. Base with polishing to the corners on the upper section of the square step. Glue repaired chip to one corner, other smaller nicks here and there and a larger chip to the undersde of one of the corners on the base. Shade with very slight edge wear but generally ok. Both clips are present to hold the burner section to the reservoire.

Condition Report: Yellow shade with a few minor and little nicks to the bottom edge otherwide ok. Glass reservoire very dirty inside. Tarnishing and age wear patina to the metal on both lamps throughout. Both in need of a clean. It is very stiff at the base and moves freely at the top, there is a dent to the rim. We don't know if it works and recommend re-wiring in any case.
