A Norwegian-silver gilt plique-à-jour spoon,stamped 925S,decorated with floral motifs,12cm long, andan unmarked plique-à-jour ladle,the stem decorated with red flower motifs,14.5cm long (2)Norwegian plique-à-jour enamel work enjoyed international success following the World’s Columbia Exhibition at Chicago in 1893 where an oil lamp with a large plique-à-jour shade was exhibited by David Andersen. At the Paris Exhibition in 1900, many examples of Tostrup’s work were snapped up by museums, including two exquisite standing dishes which are at the Württembergisches Landesmuseum in Stuttgart. On a smaller scale, spoons proved very popular too, and Liberty & Co. of London offered them for sale as Yuletide gifts in 1896 and 1898.
An Art Deco frosted and crackle glass ceiling lamp of waisted form, hand painted with Oriental scenes, height 19cm, and a further Art Deco Czechoslovakian white opaque glass table lamp shade, hand painted with floral motifs with retailer's name "Sunastone", diameter 18cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Blue shade: tiny chips around aperture hole. Also a blemish in manufacture to the top of the shade, otherwise both ok.
