Two Victorian oil lamps, one with a facet etched cranberry glass shade and cranberry reservoir on a brass column, the other with a moulded green glass reservoir on reeded brass column and each upon a black glazed earthenware base. Height including chimneys 62 cm and 58 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The pink glass shade is cracked and the oval section of glass that forms the crack has Sellotape over. There are also the usual very small nibbles to the foot rim of the shade. The chimney is in good order. The screw in brass burner appears to be in good order. The reservoir is not damaged. The brass column and base are also in good order. The second lamp chimney is in good condition. The burner appears to be in good order also although like the first it is very tarnished. The green glass reservoir does not appear to have any cracks or damage but the gilding is rubbed. The brass column support beneath is loose. The top of the ceramic base has three small slightly raised prunt marks and there is also a loss to the original glaze surface. There may have been a further brass section beneath the column at some point.
A pair of moulded glass and brass table lamps, each with shade and raised on square stepped bases. Height including shade 86 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are no issues with the glass on either lamp. They are both currently plugged in and lit up in the saleroom. The shades are in good order with no perforations and no damage. All metalwork is a little tarnished as one would expect.
An Edwardian moulded milk glass ceiling light shade, with stylised reeded columns in foliate panels against a turquoise ground fitted with three suspension mounts together with a moulded "Blondel Bowl-Holophane" light shade within a brass cut hanging mount. 34 cm and 30.5 cm diameter respectively. CONDITION REPORT: Neither lamp has a ceiling rose. The milk glass shade is in good order with no issues. Unfortunately the holophane light shade is damaged. The glass bowl whilst in one piece has a crack running from the top lip down into the body of the bowl for +/- 8 cm. There are also three edge rim chips. When the shade is in the brass housing the edge chips are obviously not visible. There are also two further chips to the main body of the bowl which are visible at all times.
A 19th century brass lamp standard, with reservoir and etched shade. CONDITION REPORT: The shade is in generally good condition with no cracks and no substantial chips. There are the usual very minor edge nibbles to the inner top circumference and around the base but these are to be expected and not problematic. The chimney is in good order. The burner is very tarnished but all present and appears to operate as it should. It is a bayonet fitting. The reservoir has dents to the bottom edge which are not visible when in situ. The lamp is structurally sound and the rise and fall mechanism operates as it should and locks into place. There are no losses to the base. The original lacquer work is partially missing and there is some tarnishing but no real series condition issues.
