A Victorian walnut turnover top card table, with green baize playing surface and applied moulding to the frieze, with turned column and four downswept legs terminating in scroll feet. Width 90 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The veneer to the top of the table is water damaged and bubbled in numerous places. There are also some small losses. The moulded edge is in good order. The interior baize is in good condition. There are stress fractures to the veneers left and right of the green baize. The frieze is in generally good order. The table is structurally sound. The centre column is in good condition. There is some evidence of woodworm to the four legs, this appears to be long gone but holes are visible.
A Chinese carved rosewood envelope card table, late 19th century, the top carved with dragons with sacred pearl amongst clouds, the interior leaves opening to reveal carved prunus around a dished well, the frieze with two drawers carved with fruiting vines and peaches, all upon fruiting vine carved legs. 59 cm wide, 73.5 cm high (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This item is structurally sound with no signs of any obvious losses or repairs. There is shrinkage to the top and the four leaves do not fit tightly together. When the leaves are open there again are signs of shrinkage but nothing too detrimental. There is an age split on one of the joins where the leg joins the table but again this can be easily rectified.
