Edwardian mahogany card table, rectangular foldover top, the legs joined by carved rails, 56x40cm, height 73cm.Condition report:Sound frame. Some marks and wear to the top surface when closed. Internally the baize is split along the fold line and there is a 5mm gap when fully open between the two halves. Some spot staining and insect damage/ loss to the baize. There is a split to one of the borders of the "bottom" section of the top.
Reproduction mahogany foldover pedestal card table, the top with moulded egde, baize lined interior, turned column, four splayed reeded legs, width 85cm, depth 43cm, height 76cm.Condition report:A slight shallow chip to the right hand rear corner of the top when it is closed, just above the hinges. Slight blemishing to the varnish on the top. The baize is generally good, just one or two spot marks. Otherwise very stable, minor wear to the pedestal and supports.

Jan. 1801.' An unrecorded state in Howgego, first entry noted as 1804, 3rd edition, so this possibly a first edition. Provenance; The Alan Winning Collection of Antiquarian Maps, Books and Atlases. Beginning in the 1970’s with an interest in the 19th Century development of the railway network and the County Maps of this period that charted it, Alan expanded his academic interest into good early printed maps, town plans, travel guides, books and atlases and has been adding to his collection over the past 50 years.

The crossbanding is starting to lift slightly. The dry sections have some small areas of repair. The green baize interior is fairly recent, so is in good condition. The table is structurally sound. An absolutely stunning item with the complete train including the locomotive positioned across the page as a guide to a table beneath announcing the individuals in each carriage and the loco crew. Ornate, coloured border with the royal crests in each of the top corners. Printed by Waterlow & Sons, and is in it's original oak glazed frame. In superb condition, measures 15.75in x 10.75in.
