A Victorian burr walnut and gilt metal mounted card table, attributed to Holland & Sons, the fold over top with blue baize lining on fluted tapering legs and castors, 97cm wide/Note: This table closely matches furniture supplied by Holland & Sons to Sandringham House in 1863/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: The table is 51cm deep and 73cm high, , three of the legs are loose and swivel on the joint and the table rocks quite badly, small pieces of veneer missing around top frieze, baize badly stained, gilt metal mounts complete.

An unusual mid/late 19th century burr yew wood, yew wood and yew crossbanded card table of 17th century design, the rectangular hinged top enclosing a gilt tooled green leather surface with plain freeze, single end drawer and twin hinged swing-out tapering hexagonal legs to cross stretchers and raised on bun feet, height 80cm, width 110.5cm, depth when closed 35.5cm.Provenance: From a private Worcestershire collection.Additional InformationThe table has been in a hallway and has suffered with direct sunlight, the top and the frieze are both very bleached. The top also is whitening in parts, with some rippling to the veneer. A couple of small flecks of veneer are missing, but the table is of sound construction.
