He established his business in 1929 and can be seen advertising in various newspapers by 1832. In 1851 he is described in the Census as a Brandy Merchant and Hotel Keeper at 138-140 Holborn Hill. The business was highly successful and advertisements for Henry Brett & Co. can be found from as late as 1883.
