Folz a surgeon and barber in Nuremberg was the author of several poems (many to do with public health) farces and plays; he also worked as a printer. The assignment of this edition to Augsburg is based on the woodcut which is either a copy or a reworking of a block which was once owned by the printer Heinrich Steiner who had gone bankrupt in 1547.
