August 12th 1922." with further label to the side of the case "E.F. Spicer. F.Z.S. & Sons Naturalists & Entomologists 58 Suffolk Street Birmingham." w. 61, d.14, h.41cm.
§ Alan B Hayman (British, b. 1947) Winter Highland Scene with Red deer stags and hinds and brace of grouse to the foreground in a snowy landscape signed lower left "A B Hayman '97" oil on canvas 90 x 172cm (35 x 67in) Condition is fine. Oil on hardboard. The painting is in a good condition overall, the board is in plane with no deformations. There is a small loss to the paint layer at the lower right corner. There are a few light accretions on the surface of the painting. The frame is in a good condition.
A pair of Continental walnut veneered bedside cabinets, each fitted with a drawer and cupboard and raised on stepped lobed legs. Width 41 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cabinets will date from the 1930's. They are both in generally good condition. The cabinet with the door handle on the left hand side has a small section of moulding missing to the extreme right of the top of the left leg. Other than this and minor surface scratches the condition is good. The left hand rear leg has a metal brace at the rear and is slightly loose at the joint. The other cabinet is structurally sound with no condition issues other than minor surface marks and scratches as one would expect.
Attributed to THOMAS WILKINSON WALLIS (1821-1903) BritishA pair of one piece carved limewood groups, comprising: a Thrush perched in a fruiting oak bough; and a pair of Wrens perched in a berried ivy spray, one inspecting a spiderCircular framed and convex glazed30 cm diameter (a pair) (2)Note: T W Wallis established a business in Louth, Lincolnshire in 1834. After initially making models of wire and clay he would carved still life subjects from a single block of limewood. He won gold medals at The Great Exhibition 1851. As well as signing his work, Wallis also used small insects and small snails as a trademark. Works by this artist can be seen at Louth Museum including the Heron with Bullrush and Ivy, 1853; Woodcock, 1853; Woodcock, 1854; and Brace of Partridges, 1856. CONDITION REPORTS: Both generally good, expected wear, uninspected out of frames, no obvious losses or damages.
24th-21st century BC. A large black jasper cylinder seal with bearded sun-god Šamaš wearing a flounced robe and a single-horned head-dress, with hair bun at the neck, raising the left hand with his saw, is seated facing right on a throne with a cross-shaped side brace; before the god a worshipper wearing a fringed robe led by the hand(?) by a goddess wearing a striped robe; the representation of the upper body of the goddess and the space immediately behind her is absent; between Šamaš and goddess a scorpion, between the goddess and worshipper an axe. For Akkadian times the rule is that the sun-god is generally shown facing right, cf. Collon, D. Cylinder Seals II. Akkadian-, Post Akkadian - Ur III-Periods, London, 1982, p.104. 30 grams, 34mm (1 1/2"). Property of a European gentleman living in London; previously from an American collection formed in the 1950s. Very fine condition.

A BRACE OF INDIAN DAGGERS. Both with rear curving blades of approximately 10.3/4" respectively, each having a three quarter length tapering fuller. Hilts of stone and mother of pearl in segment patterns, scabbards of leather covered wood. Both blades in good condition having been coated years ago, in grease.
A BRACE OF 19thC CONSTABLES SIDEARMS. A brace of Victorian Constables sidearms with single-edged curved blades of 30" approx blades. Full length wide fullers, brass hilts with swept forward quillions and rayskin covered grips. One has the locking button missing, one has some loss of the grip.
