SCOTTISH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION SCOTTISH CUP WINNERS GOLD MEDAL 1933-34,awarded to Willie Nicholson of Rangers F.C., the obverse inscribed 'Scottish Football Association' in blue enamelled lettering around a pierced oval depicting a lion rampant, beneath a thistle motif, the reverse inscribed 'Scottish Cup 1933-34, won by Rangers F.C, W. Nicholson', 45mm high including bale, maker F&S, in nine carat gold, 13.1gNote: William 'Willie' Nicholson started his senior career with Queen's Park, before signing for Rangers F.C. in 1929. He would go on to make 70 appearances for Rangers, winning the League with the club three times, and lifting the Scottish Cup once, for which this medal was awarded. This Scottish Cup medal was well earned by Nicholson, who bagged a brace in the final against St Mirren F.C. on 21 April 1934. The match at Hampden Park eventually ended with a triumphant 5-0 win for the Boys in Blue.

GEISSINGER, HEIDELBERG', and with gold line and gold-inlaid acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends, some external patination towards muzzles, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, carved percussion fences with button strikers, rebounding back-action locks with ornately carved hammers, permanently-attached fore-end with hooked steel finial barrel release, ornately scrolled bifurcated triggerguard with finger loop pull back snap underlever, scrolled horn triggerguard tang, the action, lockplates and furniture finely carved in relief with stylised foliage and acanthus scrollwork on a finely matted background, with game scene vignettes of fox and rabbit to the left and deerhound bringing down a stag to the right, the lockplates with a brace of pheasant to the right and a spaniel to the left, the triggerguard with roe deer, retaining some colour-hardening and finish overall, 14 1/4in. well-figured stock with cheekpiece, sling swivels and partially engraved skeletal steel buttplate, weight 7lb. A 19th century comb-back ash Windsor chair, the hooped back with eight spindles, the saddle seat raised on ring-turned supports united by an H stretcher, 56cm wide x 50cm deep x 102cm high, seat height 45cm.All joints sturdy. Evidence of re-gluing where legs join the seat. Leg length slightly different and so the chair does have a wobble. Fine split to seat adjacent to front right arm support. Brace to mid rail on one side. General signs of age and use throughout including typical wear and scuffing.

(14cm.) diameter, gross weight 16.65 tr.oz. (2) * Marks slightly rubbed but clearly legible. Good condition with no repairs visible. A few tiny dings to lower edge.
