James Mathieson, Scottish, 1931-2003, a life size bronze figure of Phaethon, depicted falling to his death having been struck from Helios' chariot, signed to underside of foot Mathieson and numbered 3/12, approx. 176cm long (ARR)         Footnotes: Note: Phaethon was the ill-fated son of the Sun God Helios, who after convincing his father to swear an oath on the River Styx to grant him any wish he chose to demand to drive the Sun Chariot.
