A WWII period Japanese sword, the blade numbered 106905, with a faux sharkskin and cord bound handle, with a scabbard (surface rust) Condition report Report by RB The blade has residue of oil on it, no major nicks, the faux cord bound and faux shagreen mounted handle has lost most of its paint finish. The plain iron tsuba with surface rust, the brown painted metal scabbard with loss of paint and surface rust. Serial No to blade - 106905, with matching number to the scabbard mouth piece. The press stud function operates well.

Hon zukuri, iori mune, chú kissaki, ko itame hada with chikei, chú suguha with ashi, nijúba, yubashiri etc., bó utsuri, marugata shakudó nanakoji takabori tsuba with motif of a Chinese landscape, shakudó nanako ji fuchi kashira with motif of dragon in clouds (unryú), shakudó menuki with motif of Ushiwakamaru and king of the tengú from Kurama Mountain, hinerimaki, kuronuri saya. A Japanese sword Wakizashi, c 1600, blade 18½Â”, signed Bizeu Osafune Sukesada. All fittings are edged with gold line, brown moulded saya, bronze tsuba deeply raised with gilt floral, foliage and dragon. Fuchi kashira, gilt lined en suite, menuki of tablet form. Gilt habaki, gilt lined shibabiki, Ishizuke and Kurikata, brown tsuka ito over ray skin. Signed kosuka with raised floral and fruit bowl. Good Condition blade partly polished. Plate 19
GRAND KOSHIRAE de type tachi, en ivoire rehaussé d’encre, entièrement orné d’un riche décor finement sculpté en relief de scènes organisées en registres horizontaux, illustrant les aventures héroïques d’un guerrier, chaque scène délimitée par les éléments de la monture reproduits en sculpture dans l’ivoire et rehaussés de rinceaux et motifs stylisés : ichizuki, amaoi et seme, shibabiki, ashi, kabuto gane, trois anneaux en ivoire (obitori et saru-te), tsuba orné d’oiseaux et rinceaux, entre deux sepa en forme de chrysanthème. Lame restituée en bois. (Accidents et restaurations anciens). Japon, période Meiji (1868-1912). Support en bois. Long. 136 cm
HAMIDACHI TANTO à lame hira zukuri, hamon peu lisible (suguha ?), nakago à deux mekugi ana, non signée, fourreau en same gris, poignée tressée sur same, fuchi-kashira et tsuba dépatinés, menuki en sentoku. (Position de l’habaki modifiée pour ajuster le nakago à la poignée, kissaki émoussé, manquent les kojiri, kurigata et kogatana). Japon, période Edo, XVIIe-XVIIIe siècles. Long. 29,3 cm
NAGINATA NAOSHI WAKIZASHI Lame de naginata montée en wakizashi, avec koshirae complet en suite, le fourreau laqué brun à texture granitée, ichizuki et amaoi, kurigata, tsuba, fuchi et kabuto gane, en cuivre patiné noir avec rehauts dorés, à décor de pluviers en vol au-dessus des flots, la poignée en cuivre ornée, sur les deux côtés, de carpes et cascade en relief et de pluviers.
