A Japanese Shinto Katana, the 69.5cm blade with almost horizontal hamon, the tang with faint signature to each side and with single mekugi an, one piece copper habaki with burred edge, iron tsuba applied with parcel gilt bronze birds in flight over waves, the green braid bound same hilt with bronze dragon menuki and chrysanthemum decorated bronze fuchi and kashira, the black lacquer saya decorated with stylised seaweed in red Two tiny nicks to edge near tip of blade, with some black patching to the surface. Saya has cracks near the mouth and the suspension block is broken off

A 19th Century Japanese Aikuchi, the 26cm blade with bevelled back edge, narrow fuller and almost horizontal hamon, one piece burred white metal habaki, silver plated oval tsuba, fuchi and kashira incised with cloud bands, the same covered grip with gilt metal dragon menuki, the silver plated saya incised with cloud bands, with gilt metal dragon cast mounts and inset with wood panelsTwo nicks to edge of blade towards the tip. There is wear to the silver plating . Unable to remove the grip to view the tang. Seam visible on same binding.

Brass military pattern tsuba with brass military fuchi and kabuto gane. White shagreen grip with brass floral menuki. Twisted tan cord binding. Contained in its black lacquered wooden scabbard complete with brown leather field scabbard . Together with its brown and blue Officer's sword knot. Ido Hidetoshi pre war Swordsmith lived in Seki City in Mino Province. Born in 1915. He worked at Fukumoto Amahide's Gunto Factory which was located in Seki Gifu.

Polished wooden grip with carved bone floral menuki. Contained in its polished wooden ribbed scabbard with carved bone inlet mounts. Lower chape and throat absent. Scabbard fitted to take a small front knife, this absent. Minor rust staining to blade.

Contained in its brown painted steel scabbard complete with darkened mounts . Together with its Junior Officer's brown cord sword knot.
