A good wakizashi with fine hamon, in need of repolishing with some damage to the tip. Probably 16th/17th century. Mu mei. The hilt bound in ray skin and black silk fuchi-kashira in shakudo and gold depicting a floral design, the menuki in shakudo and gold depicting cockerels. Tsuba decorated with a crane and foliage. The scabbard with crushed abalone shell lacquer. 70cm total.
