Horimono: bo-hi with kaki-nagashi (a small grove at the omote side). O-kissaki, sansaku boshi. Kitae: ko mokume hada and hadadachi gokoro featuring utsuri, jifu, yubashiri and tobiyaki. Hamon: gunome choji midare with ashi and shimaba; nie and nioi. Koshirae (XIX Century): Copper habaki, pierced, iron tsuba, wooden ebu of elliptical section with rope covering at the top, black, varnished, copper sawaka, iron ishizuki featuring remains of black paint. Wooden saya, with brown, course varnish. length totale 215 cm.

Japanese Wakizaski Short Sword, single edge blade, shagreen grip with cord wrap, gilt decorated menuki, simple steel tsuba and brass blade collar, contained within a lacquered wooden scabbard. The blade approx 33 cms. There is a kozuka (handle) to the utility knife tucked into a pocket on the saya which appears to bear a signature (see image).

A Japanese Wakizashi in buke-zukuri koshirae with kuro-nuri saya, kabuto decorated menuki, unsigned shell decorated fuchi and unsigned sukashi tsuba with Amida yasurime; the blade configuration torii-zori/fukura-tsuku with shobu-hi groove on both ura and omote. Nakago with single mekugi-ana, higaki style yasurime, and three kanji inscription (Kanefusa tsukuru?) beneath mekugi-ana on omote. Nagasa about 41.5 cm (roughly 1 Shaku/3 Sun/6.9537 Bu)Please note that this lot has urumu, fatigue and deterioration including loss on the yakiba.

Housed in its black leather covered scabbard (Saya) with two hanging rings. Unsinged tang. Curved blade shows wear and has surface rusting. Blade measures 63 ½ cms, overall 91 cms.
