Lot 151

2006 Porsche Chamonix 550 Spyder by Beck Transmission: manualMileage:2904The Porsche 550 Spyder was one of Porsche's first dedicated racing cars (since the 356 was first and foremost a streetcar). The 550 Spyder removed all doubt about what the small new German sports car company was all about. The success of the 550 in competition included a win at the 1956 Targa Florio which proved that the new company, which was just five years old when the 550 first appeared, was serious about motorsport. If that wasn't enough, it was catapulted to stardom when James Dean died at the wheel of his own 550 Spyder in September 1955. Consequently, the 550 is often replicated, and as is often the case, the quality varies widely from manufacturer to manufacturer. The Chamonix Car Company started in 1980 by producing replicas for the Super 90, Speedster 356 and the Spyder 550. The brand was built on quality and competitive pricing, with the business starting to experience significant growth from 1985. When this car arrived in the UK, the very fastidious vendor was not happy with some of the quality and invested significant time and money in having several areas rebuilt, together with a number of upgrades. These included the fitting of a sports exhaust, special mirrors, aluminium pedals and switchgear and a Mota-Lita steering wheel. This super stylish exceptional recreation is finished in the colours of the James Dean car and with originals currently fetching well into several millions, this 550 represents superb value, especially given the estimate, condition and low mileage. With spring fast approaching this open top car is a real headturner.

Lot 152

1995 Porsche 911 / 993 Carrera 2 Transmission: manualMileage:109384The 993 generation of the Porsche 911 was the final iteration of more than 30 years of development on the iconic air-cooled flat-six engine, for which the 911 is so famous. The 993 drove just as well as it looked, being the first 911 with a modern multi-link rear suspension and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. With these features, the 993 was able to reach 0-60mph times of around five seconds, and a top speed of around 170mph. The 993 was known for its unique style and design. It featured all-new headlights that were integrated into the body, giving it a more modern look. It also featured a curved windshield and a redesigned rear spoiler, which improved both aerodynamics and aesthetics. This particular example is described by aficionados as the one to have; a manual gearbox, Carrera 2, coupé. The car is presented in Polar Silver with a dark blue leather interior, a classy combination for a Porsche. The car was fully resprayed in 2015, costing £5,500. The interior presents well, with some room for improvement. Quite impressively, this 911 has only had two true owners from new and has been in our vendors family since 1997, with the third owner being the second owner's son, who has the job of finding the car a new home. The car was fitted with a new clutch in 2017. At the time, the engine was removed, the rocker covers were replaced, as were the spark plugs and leads. In 2019, the car was treated to new front and rear brake discs and pads, as well as a reconditioned steering rack. The car was given an oil and filter change in February 2023. The Porsche factory option sticker is still present under the bonnet, showing option codes 033 (lowered suspension), 373 & 374 (Electric sport seats), 398 (17€ wheels), 425 (rear wiper), 567 (top tinted windscreen) and 650 (sunroof). With values of 993's rapidly increasing over the past few years, it has become hard to find a sensibly priced manual Carrera 2. This car provides the opportunity to buy into the world of air-cooled Porsche ownership during the 75th anniversary year for Porsche and the 60th anniversary year of the 911, at a great price point compared to those on the open market.

Lot 170

1973 Volkswagen Beach Buggy by GP1Transmission: manualMileage:Bruce Meyers is quoted as saying, €œI'm an artist and I wanted to bring a sense of movement and gesture to the Manx. Dune buggies have a message: fun. They're playful to drive and should look like it. Nothing did at the time.€ Sure enough, using a basic VW chassis and engine, this radical design concept proved an instant hit both in the US and then, later, in Europe. This wonderful example looks superb in striking orange coachwork over a recently re-trimmed black interior, it is a (useful) four-seater with comfortable bucket seats to the fore. Reported to run and drive very well, this Manx looks outstanding and sits proudly on a set of original 1972 polished Porsche Fuchs wheels as used on the Carrera race cars of the period, said to be worth circa £6,000 alone. Used sparingly, the long-standing previous owner has only recorded some 1,900 miles in the last 18 years and with the current owner, even less! It should be noted that is fitted with the desirable and powerful 1600GT engine offering spirited driving for those more skilled drivers. It has been serviced recently, mileage-wise and is offered with a number of old MoT test certificates, a current UK registration document and a full one year's MoT. These are generating much interest at the moment so get ahead of the crowd and enjoy the summer.Interested parties should note that this vehicle is not a ‘Meyers Manx’ example. It is in fact a Volkswagen Beach Buggy by GP1.

Lot 174

2017 Ultima GTR Transmission: manualMileage:3300Ultima GTR - The fastest accelerating and decelerating supercar of all time and multiple world speed record holder. The exciting Ultima GTR road car is the result of over 20 years of extensive research and development and is a product that takes the Ultima marque to sensational levels of fit, finish and performance. The world renowned GTR really is a supercar in every sense of the word which has officially humbled every last mainstream car on the planet bar none. In 2006, for instance, the GTR was crowned as the fastest production car in the world, beating the likes of the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo and McLaren F1 to a plethora of world speed acceleration and deceleration records. In 2007, the GTR was independently timed around the Top Gear test track and was found to be a blistering 6.2 seconds per lap faster than the £450,000 Ferrari Enzo, staggering the onlookers witnessing the remarkable feat! Aerodynamic efficiency and balance has been of paramount importance on a car that is capable of over 200mph. Attention has centred around the length of the rear of the car to help clean up the airflow and thus improve down force, whilst maintaining a short front and rear overhang has ensured that the Ultima performs perfectly on normal roads taking speed bumps and ferry ramps in its stride. These developments have been comprehensively tested at MIRA (the Motor Industry Research Association) where the group was so impressed by the results that it sought an Ultima GTR as the centrepiece for many exhibition appearances publicising the extensive facilities that they have available for car manufacturers. The ultra clean look of the GTR and the faultless self-coloured gel coat bodywork has not been achieved through luck, but rather by design. The production car feel of the Ultima is immediately apparent, from the specially moulded headlight housings and covers to the immaculate panel fit and lack of any external body catches. Huge wheels front and back fill the wheel arches declaring its performance potential and the sensational appearance of the car has been applauded by designers and connoisseurs alike. This fabulous example is presented in the iconic and nostalgic Rothmans colours synonymous with the Le Mans Porsche sports cars. It is fitted with a 6.2 litre fuel injected LS3 GM performance crate engine with EFI ECU, mated to a six-speed Porsche G50 gearbox supplied by Ultima. It has an FIA roll cage, lowered floor pan, twin fuel tanks, big brake kit, Alcantara pneumatic seats with adjusters, double skin package and a Thatcham Category 6 alarm immobiliser. Its air box was designed by Gardner Douglas, has LED lights and carbon fibre box lids. The starter motor (new) and alternator have both been upgraded and the engine has been tuned by Wortec. Air conditioning has been fitted and the instrumentation is Ultima with a leather and Alcantara dashboard which is standard factory fitted. The car sits on three-piece Billet wheels, and we understand that this fabulous sports car weighs in at only 1093kg! A truly stunning sports car with shattering performance to match, superb at the fraction of the price of more familiar Italian rivals!!

Lot 193

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Sport Restomod Transmission: manualMileage:160819€œThere is no greater visceral driving experience, it is often argued, than can be had in a Porsche 911€. A quote often used by motoring journalists for the simple reason than that it is true. This is also the reason that the 3.2 litre Carrera is the basis for many performance upgrades and, more recently, the advent of the 'Restomod'. These are modern cars that often hark back to the classic 2.7 litre RS or IROC (International Race of Champions) tribute in the US or classic cars with modern underpinnings. What lifts one example head and shoulders above another, however, is usually the attention to detail and the accompanying investments made. A bodykit simply won't do but continue to read and you will see that this vendor, in particular, has gone to extreme lengths to put together a car that not only looks incredible but is easy to live with and performs like a Le Mans racer when asked to. Based on a 1985 3.2 litre Carrera Sport chassis, this 911 is a great example of impact bumper upgradery with a torquey 3.6 litre, 964 RS specification engine initially inputted by Bob Watson Porsche but latterly rebuilt by air-cooled specialist, Nick Fulljames of Redtek, to give 292bhp combined with hugely increased lightness. Kitted out with the Tuthill six-pot brakes and super compliant EXE-TC fully adjustable road tarmac rally suspension and combined with recent Continental Contisport Contact tyres (consistently voted Evo Tyre of the Year). The 915 gearbox was rebuilt in full and connected to a Quaife limited slip differential with a bespoke undertray fabricated by John Williams whilst still offering a forgiving ride height which most modern sportscars simply won't rival. It benefits from a recent oil service, filters and Ferodo racing brake pads. Although recording just over 160,000 on the odometer, in reality, there are just over 30,000 on the new engine fitted in 2012 as is documented in the paperwork alongside the brand-new heat exchangers. The output and ECU mapping set-up is by Porsche/BMW engine mapping specialists, Wayne Scofield of Chipwizards. It has then been detailed by Gary Cook at GDC Automotive (Ex-Autofarm) and further improvements and service by Tuthill's and Leigh at Carrera Porsche. The interior benefits from Recaro Sportster CS seats, centre console delete, black headliner, sunroof and, as you would image, a recent bare metal respray in Blood Orange. There is also a new Momo deep-dish 350mm suede steering wheel, upgraded LED headlights and a heated front windscreen running on a ten-minute timed delay. An original Porsche immobiliser and alarm with three keys, a new battery and kill switch are included as is a Blaupunkt SQR 46 DAB head unit paired to Auto Audio fitted speakers with Bluetooth and USB port, a high-quality breathable car-cover and an additional IROC-style spoiler for that different look. A huge history file, including the original purchase receipt from AFN Chiswick, completes this hugely competent classic offering everything that is required in this RS or IROC-specification Porsche, depending on how you feel. HPI clear and with a full and comprehensive history file, this represents significantly more than just the sum of its parts.

Lot 202

2014 Porsche 911 / 991 Turbo S Cabriolet Transmission: automaticMileage:17352The Porsche 991 is the internal designation for the seventh generation of the Porsche 911, unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15th September as the replacement for the 997. The 991 was an entirely new platform, only the third since the original 911 launched in 1963 (the 996 of 1999 was the second new platform). Introduced in 2012, the 991 Turbo has a twin turbocharged 3.8 litre flat-six engine generating 513bhp and 457lb‹…ft of torque with all-wheel drive. The Turbo comes as standard with Porsche's PDK dual clutch transmission and is the first Turbo model to not feature a manual transmission. The car was faster and lighter thanks to greater use of aluminium, but also more comfortable than ever before. The Turbo S in particular is the pinnacle of the 911 range, offering the best balance of comfort and performance before moving towards track orientated models such as the GT3 and GT3 RS.This fabulous Porsche Cabriolet is presented in the delightful colour combination of GT Silver metallic with contrasting red interior and a burgundy roof. Presenting in fabulous, virtually unmarked condition, this Turbo S cabriolet has formed part of a private collection since the vendor purchased the car from Porsche Centre Colchester in August 2018. The car has covered less than three thousand miles since the start of his tenureship. The automatic soft top can be raised or lowered in just 13 seconds and very impressively at speeds of up to 31mph. Service records confirm the low mileage to be correct and the condition is certainly commensurate with such a low mileage example. The most recent service was carried out by Porsche Brooklands in December 2022. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 17th November 2023. This Porsche 991 Turbo S Cabriolet is exceptional in every aspect.

Lot 204

1969 Porsche 912 Transmission: manualMileage:Manufactured between 1965 and 1969, the Porsche 912 was very much the entry level Porsche sports car. Although, for some time, considered the poorer relation to the 911, the 912 is a serious sports car in its own right. With aerodynamic lines, low weight and an efficient engine, the 912 demonstrated good performance, nimble handling and economy, resulting in initial production cars outselling the 911. The 912 won Car and Driver's 1967 'Readers Choice' Poll for its class, a popular choice for motorsport teams and a rally prepared 912 won its class in the 1967 European Rally Championship. This superb left hand drive example of this highly sought after model is presented in the rare evocative colour of Bahama Yellow with black interior. Its nostalgic sounding 1800cc four-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed 'dog leg' gearbox. The vendor has just spent circa £2,000 on the car and it comes with a good history file including photographic proof of its restoration. This Porsche is in absolutely stunning condition with the vendor scoring it ten out of ten in terms of quality all round! This is certainly a Porsche for the collector or connoisseur without doubt.

Lot 222

1990 Porsche 911 / 964 Carrera 2 Transmission: manualMileage:112150The 964 was produced between 1989 and 1994, and a standout car for its time which is possibly even more sought-after today. It has a sleek, modern look that is still recognisable and unique, which made it a very popular donor car for people choosing to build a backdated, or 'resto-mod' 911. The fact that so many 964's were used as the base for a 'resto-mod' build, means that very few un-modified examples remain, especially in rear wheel drive Carrera 2 guise. The 964 was the first 911 to be available with an all-wheel drive system and a special lightweight chassis that made it incredibly agile and capable of taking corners with ease. The engine was powerful and fuel efficient, making it a great choice for performance, or daily driving. It was also the first 911 to be fitted with an adjustable spoiler, which allowed the driver to adjust their aerodynamics and improve performance. This particular example is the 'holy grail' specification, being a non-sunroof, manual gearbox Carrera 2. This car is a C07 model, meaning it was originally delivered to Italy and was imported by our vendor in 2021 and is now showing just 112,000km (circa 69,000 miles). The original 'option' sticker is still visible on the underside of the bonnet, showing option codes 220 (locking differential) and 573 (air conditioning). Our vendor has recently fitted the Porsche classic communication system, meaning the car has Bluetooth & DAB radio but he has kept the original radio, should you wish to return the car to standard. This 911 was on the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) register, meaning it was verified to retain its original engine and specification. Additionally, this 911 is part of the Porsche classic UK register. The car comes with a good service history, with the most recent service having been completed in September 2021, just 9,000km ago. It was also treated to new brake discs and pads all round in 2022, at a cost of £2,090 in total. The values of 964's have rapidly increased in the past decade, now overtaking those of their younger siblings, the 993. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a completely standard, manual, coupé, non-sunroof, Carrera 2 and this example ticks all of the boxes. The car is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner and with Porsche celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023, there will be no shortage of events to attend with the car.
