Lot 21

Registration - D928 HUAChassis No. - WP0ZZZ92ZGS841891M.O.T. - July 2024Odometer - 124,000 The 928 on offer is an S2 model from 1986. According to VDI Check it was originally finished in blue and repainted in its current red livery in 2015. This is paired to a navy blue interior trimmed in a pleasing mix of leather and striped Alcantara, and the S2 rides on its original set of alloy wheels. The last keeper retained the Porsche for eight years and we understand its steering rack, cam belt, water pump and mass air flow sensor have all been replaced in recent times. The vendor presently classes the V8 engine as ‘excellent’ and the four-speed automatic transmission, coupe bodywork, paintwork and upholstery as ‘good’. ‘D928 HUA’ is now on offered complete with a spare set of 17-inch 911 alloy wheels and almost new tyres, model-related cherished registration number, pair of keys, the original owner’s book pack, a degree of service history and selection of bills and receipts, plus a current MOT valid for the next 11 months. Styled by American Tony Lapine, Porsche’s front-engined, water-cooled, V8-powered 2+2 928 was launched at the 1977 Geneva Salon. Not only was it about as mechanically different to the ubiquitous 911 as it could possibly be, but represented the company’s first foray into grand touring territory. Nevertheless, it received a rapturous reception from the press and was duly awarded the 1978 Car of The Year Award. Production continued until 1995, by which time some 61,000 examples had been made. At launch, the all-alloy engine was 4,474cc in capacity and produced some 240bhp. The S derivative introduced in 1979 featured an enlarged unit of 4,664cc and a commensurate increase in performance – the 0-60mph dash was now possible in 6.2 seconds and the top speed electronically limited to 155mph. The S2 version introduced in 1983 saw power further boosted to 310bhp and a welcome increase in equipment levels. In summary:A seven-keeper example that’s currently registering 124,740 milesHas remained in the last ownership for eight yearsComes with a spare set of 17-inch Porsche 911 wheels and tyres

Lot 23

Registration - RL02 HJDChassis No - WP0ZZZ98Z2U604687M.O.T. - 12/2023Odometer - 95,000Boxsters have been lauded by the press and enthusiasts alike from the day the model was launched 27 years ago, despite which they remain remarkably good value in the second-hand market. This tidy 986 example is powered by the 2.7-litre engine which drives through the optional Tiptronic paddle-shift gearbox. It has recently been treated to a new hood and nowadays rides on a set of premium Pirelli P Zero tyres. The vendor, the Porsche’s sixth keeper, inform us that while in his care it ‘has always been dry stored and well maintained, runs and drives superbly, and could happily be employed as a daily driver’. He presently grades the flat-six engine, transmission and convertible bodywork as ‘excellent’, the black leather trim as ‘good to excellent’, and the silver paintwork as ‘good’. ‘RL02 HJD’ is now being sold complete with a full service history (including the stamps of a number of Porsche specialists), a pair of keys, an assortment of invoices, and a current MOT valid to December 4. The chic two-door, two-seat Boxster was introduced alongside the evergreen 911 in 1996. Being of mid- rather than rear-engined configuration it actually exhibited superior handling and roadholding to the seemingly immortal 911, winning immediate acclaim from the media and customers alike. It was also the first road-going Porsche since the 550 Spyder to be designed from scratch as a roadster, having been penned that way by Dutch designer Harm Lagaay, who was also primarily responsible for the 968, 993, Cayenne, 996 and Carrera GT. The Boxster sobriquet was a contraction of ‘boxer-engined roadster’ – the newcomer being a convertible with water-cooled flat-six engine. At launch the powerplant was 2.5-litres in capacity, but the standard offering was increased to 2.7-litres in 2000, coincident with the introduction of the higher performance 3.2-litre S. Suspension was independent all round by MacPherson struts and coil springs, braking by power-assisted ventilated discs, and steering by rack and pinion. With 225bhp on tap the 2.7-litre version was capable of sprinting to 60mph in only a little over six seconds and on to a top speed of almost 160mph. In summary:A tidy six-keeper, 95,513-mile example with automatic transmissionRecently treated to a new hood and a set of premium tyresComes complete with full service history and current MOT

1973 Volkswagen Manx Beach Buggy Evocation Transmission: manualMileage:Bruce Meyers is quoted as saying, "I'm an artist and I wanted to bring a sense of movement and gesture to the Manx. Dune buggies have a message, fun. They're playful to drive and should look like it. Nothing did at the time."Sure enough, using a basic Volkswagen chassis and engine, this radical design concept proved an instant hit both in the US and then, later, in Europe. This wonderful example of a Manx Evocation looks superb in striking orange coachwork over a recently re-trimmed black interior, it is a (useful) four-seater with comfortable bucket seats to the front. Lot 178

1985 Porsche 911 / 930 Turbo Transmission: manualMileage:71800In the early 1970's, Porsche had designs on racing a turbocharged version of the 911 and the Porsche 911 Turbo or 930 was born. It was the fastest production car available on the market. Adding this level of power to the already powerful car created a vehicle that was not for the faint hearted. In skilled hands, however, a 930 will show a clean pair of heels to most of its rivals. It was based around the Carrera RS 3.0, the engine from which was modified, courtesy of turbo technology. Initially, power output was 260bhp but from 1978, it was increased to 300bhp by raising the engine capacity to 3.3 litres as is the case in this instance.First registered on 8th August 1985, this fabulous black on black unmodified genuine C16 UK supplied 930 Turbo is not only stunning but ready to use and enjoy having had thousands lavished on it by our vendor, notably to the bodywork and engine. In addition to the extensive engine work the turbo was rebuilt, a new clutch and gearbox synchros. A recent oil service by Uber GT is coupled to a full engine rebuild by Northway Porsche at 70,000 miles before running in and all of the necessary and recommended work thereafter has been carried out by the renowned Porsche specialists.Evidence of this work is all found within the impressive history file with detailed invoices and comprehensively stamped service booklet. The bodywork is superb with a deep gloss as you would hope with this iconic car and importantly there are no signs of any corrosion, the black leather interior looks original and in keeping with the age of the car with good bolsters and a fine finish. Our vendor informs us that the car drives superbly and the engine pulls as strong as he would hope providing, as it should, a very visceral and engaging experience. The fuel system has had the necessary work to ensure that this 930 drives as you would expect, work includes reconditioned fuel distributor, pressure regulator, along with new coil pack and ignition amplifier. Michelin PS4 tyres were fitted within the last 1,000 miles and it is used regularly to keep the fluids flowing. There is a Blaupunkt Bremen fitted which looks the part of course. Recent work is in excess of £25,000 so you have the confidence you are buying a great car. The 930 Turbo is incredibly collectable, and this example not only has looks to die for but the mechanical confidence to back it up. A true icon and sure to retain its value in the coming years.

Lot 135

1981 Porsche 924 Turbo Carrera Tribute Transmission: manualMileage:83800Originally starting life as a very respectable 924 Turbo, this example was registered new on 18th March 1981. Having been in storage for some 12 years, this 924 was acquired by a previous owner in 2000 with 81,000 miles on the odometer, with the intention of creating a Carrera GT tribute. He commissioned the work to be undertaken by KSM Engineering who completed the transformation by utilising parts from a vandalised Carrara GT. The car was then treated to an engine rebuild, retrimmed interior, and a respray in Guards Red, finished with a set of Fuchs alloys. The result was a superb looking tribute that was in excellent condition. Later sold in 2005 the new keeper fitted a stainless-steel exhaust and a Mittal electronic distributor. Other notable upgrades to the 924 include a new cambelt, four new tyres, a refurbished fuel tank, new pipes and hoses, new fuel pump, refurbished brake calipers with new pads, new heater and radiator hoses, a new wiring loom, period style DAB radio with hands free connectivity, instruments refurbished, and more recently in 2023 the turbo was refurbished and upgraded to Carrera GT specification by AET Turbos. Our vendor acquired this superb looking example in 2020 in good running and driving condition, however in 2023 the camshaft oil feed fractured, and the result was a bent valve. Having had the engine inspected using a borescope it revealed that one bent valve was the extent of the damage. As such the Porsche is being sold as a non-runner with the above work needing completion before road use. The decision was taken to sell the Porsche as is rather than complete the above work due to the vendors health complications and being in need of a more practical weekend car. Offered with a large history file including service records, invoices, old MoT test certificates and the V5C registration document as well as a number of spares. Once completed, this example will no doubt offer astonishing performance and handling while being a very comfortable long distance tourer.

Lot 224

2002 Porsche 911 / 996 Carrera 4S Transmission: manualMileage:75372The Porsche 911/996 Carrera 4S is fast becoming one of the most desirable 996 models, given its wide turbo body looks and still remaining very affordable in the modern classic world. It offers a thrilling driving experience and is powered by 3.6 litre flat-six engine, producing a highly respectable 316bhp. This engine was paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic. The car was also fitted with an all-wheel drive system, giving it excellent traction and handling in any conditions. The 996 Carrera 4S has a top speed of 174mph and a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars in its class. This iconic Carrera 4S 911 is presented in Seal Grey with contrasting leather trim, a non-sunroof manual example of the widebody 996, this 4S is fast becoming a real favourite with collectors being a non turbo, manual widebody example of the first water cooled 911. This particular example presents excellently with little sign of the wear many other 996's suffer from, the body work is clean and the seat bolsters good perhaps due to having had just five previous owners. Recently fully serviced by Porsche Torque, this car has also had a bore scope test and shows no evidence of burning oil. The service booklet shows a further 10 services from Specialist PorschePurchased new on 13th April 2002, some 20 years ago now, this example was specified with an uprated Bose sound system and cost £63,443. South of the iconic Turbo S or GT3 models, this is seen as the true 996 drivers car, the rigidity of a non-sunroof coupé with the iconic 3.6 litre flat-six coupled to a manual gear box which is streaks ahead of the comparable Tiptronic all wrapped up in the turbo widebody.

1998 Honda Integra Type R Transmission: manualMileage:65000In 1993 the Integra was launched as a 'fairly vanilla' coupé and in 1995 Honda introduced the world to the B18C Vtec engine and the Integra Type R (R for racing) was born. Not only did the car feature a red line just shy of 9000rpm and over 100bhp per litre, but every element of the cars performance was looked at. Anything unnecessary was removed, so out went air conditioning, sound deadening and even thinner glass and carpets were added to save weight, while elements to improve the performance were added. With a seam welded chassis, strengthened suspension mounting points, bespoke suspension and Recaro SR seats. The car received a modest front spoiler, rear wing and light weight alloy wheels and a titanium gear knob. It was three years later that the Type R made its way to UK shores with only 500 cars allocated and a slightly different frontend with round rather than square head lights. The driving experience of a Honda Integra Type R is ranked as one of the best of any vehicle.  When the car ventures beyond 6000rpm the Vtec opens up and the modest four-cylinder engine changes with a soundtrack ranking along with cars with much higher cylinder counts. The gear change is positive, rifle bolt fast and with a 50/50 balanced chassis the feedback and grip are astonishing especially when you consider the car runs on 15"195 width tyres. The below quote from Richard Meaden from Evo issue 95 sums it up 'It's a car as sweet and all-consuming as any I've experienced at any price, and as pure and focused in its own way as any Porsche RS. Forget the accolade of greatest front-wheel drive car. The Integra Type R ranks as one of the truly great drivers' cars of any kind'.This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a piece of modern motoring history that is also fit to be driven as intended. This UK registered Championship White Honda Integra Type R DC2 was purchased on 8th August 1998 by a retired Honda enthusiast, who owned it until our vendor purchased in October 2021. He informs us the car was tremendous but there was plenty to do to make it better, the clutch was replaced not long after at a reputable local garage who he instructed to do further work such as replacing bushes, engine mounts, deep cleaning then undersealing a geo setup and more. Recently the car has benefited from a full (expensive) service and inspection at a Honda dealer that included OE brake discs and pads, new calipers all round, in-tank fuel filter and platinum spark plugs. Professionally detailed, polished and ceramic coated within the last year and it looks stunning. No detail has been left unturned, even a $100 plus invoice for the unobtainium brand new OE UKDM front badge from Arizona was sourced. All parts have been replaced with Honda OE where available or the best match if not. The only modification is a fantastic Fujitsubo straight through exhaust setup with RM-01A exhaust and SuperEx manifold (JASMA approved, which means it's not stupidly loud or offensive and meets stringent Japanese standards). When the VTEC kicks in there is now a noticeable pop with this setup. It has been kept in a Hamilton Classic's 'Cair-o-Port' tent inside a garage to stave off corrosion. Importantly, this example has not been left standing for ages, both current and previous owner have driven it very few miles, but its wheels have been kept turning each year. The car has an MoT test certificate valid until September 2024 and is ready to drive away in fantastic condition. All paperwork and invoices are available alongside the original invoice with dealer-fitted CD changer and A/C is present, along with the unopened red key.Recently only run on E5 fuel and more recently switched from Shell V-Power to Esso 99 as the Esso fuel has 0% ethanol. Overall, the condition is superb inside and out. Even the OE stereo head unit and six CD changer works as it should. There cannot be many chances left to buy a car like this, the sublime gearshift and free revving nature of the engine is something a modern, forced induction car will never be able to emulate.

1992 Porsche 928 GTS A Transmission: automaticMileage:4400When Porsche launched the 928 GTS in 1992, they knew it would be the last evolution of 928. Porsche did much to enhance performance and refinement, knowing that its luxury flagship would leave memories with Porsche enthusiasts. For the GTS, Porsche increased the engine capacity to 5397cc and added a catalytic convertor, with eight balance weights instead of six to enhance smoothness. This DOHC engine produced 350bhp and enabled a top speed of more than 170mph. The GTS engine was smoother and more flexible than its predecessor and was quieter and easier to drive. Changes to the chassis included a wider rear track and larger brakes. Externally, the GTS differed from S4 with its new style of alloy wheels, flared rear arches and a body-coloured rear spoiler. What Porsche wasn't advertising when the 928 was released was the price; it was among the most expensive cars on the road at the time. This severely hampered sales despite the model's high competency and long standard equipment list. Porsche discontinued the GTS model that year after shipping only 2,904 in total which in 1994 was a problem; in 2022 however, it has resulted in a rare and incredibly desirable Porsche. This Midnight Blue metallic Porsche 928 GTS has a mere 4,400 miles on its odometer and has spent much of its life as part of the Sultan of Brunei's car collection. With a close connection to the Sultan of Brunei's family, the car was acquired in 2017. It has recently been subject to a significant £20,000 no expense spared recommissioning over an 18-month period finishing in August of this year by Porsche Specialists RGA which included all electrics before the engine received full cambelt replacement and a full service and MoT test certificate, all resulting in the car we have offered today. We understand when under Brunei ownership, the front wings and bonnet were resprayed due to sun damage but since then the car has had the restoration process to bring it to a fine standard today. The interior is in lovely condition, as you might expect from a car with so few miles indeed time-warp condition. The GTS has been the collectors' choice of the 928 range and continues to appreciate dramatically with a well-known film car selling in excess of $2 million in 2021, subsequently this example is estimated at an incredible price point. Offered with full detailed invoices for the work completed by Porsche Specialists RGA and Photographic proof of works carried out during the recommissioning coupled to a recent MoT test certificate until September 2024, this UK registered example is ready to find a new home with a discerning car collector, or Porsche enthusiast especially with the incredible mileage and HJH Royal ownership.

1990 Porsche 911 / 964 Carrera Transmission: manualMileage:224831Known internally as the 964, Porsche's new generation 911 debuted in 1989 and was available in two (Carrera 2) and four-wheel drive (Carrera 4) guises with its familiar silhouette clothing a radically revamped platform. Boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.32 thanks to its deeper bumpers, smoother sills and flatter floorpan, high-speed stability was maintained by a self-deploying rear spoiler which rose above 48mph. Powered by an extensively reworked 3.6 litre air-cooled flat-six equipped with twin spark plugs per cylinder and a re-mapped Bosch Motronic fuel injection, the 964 claimed an impressive 250bhp and 229lbft of torque. Fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, most variants were reputed to be capable of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of over 160mph.This well-presented example was registered to its first owner on 1st August 1990 and was later acquired through Autofarm in 1993 by Mr. A Oetterli, a successful privateer rally driver. Throughout his tenure the Porsche was driven regularly, often used for touring throughout Europe and the UK and in particular driving to and from his two homes in Switzerland and Buckinghamshire, England consequently the odometer now showing some 224,831 miles! Meticulously maintained by Autofarm during this time, the car received regular services with no expense spared and was also professionally resprayed circa ten years ago. In more recent years and following the passing of the late Mr. A Oetterli, the Porsche was transferred to his wife who has used the car occasionally. The 964 was more recently subject to a major service and recommissioning by Autofarm at a cost of £5,531 in July 2022 and more recently the decision was made to sell the Carrera 4 after 33 years of single-family ownership. This example has been used as intended throughout its life and comes to the market with a sizeable history file detailing its past, including many invoices for maintenance work, service records and old MoT test certificates. A manual Carrera 4 is a very desirable car indeed and this example offered at an attractive estimate is an opportunity not to be missed.

1982 Porsche 911 Targa Resto-mod Transmission: manualMileage:352Starting life as a 3.0 litre 911 SC Targa, this Porsche has been extensively restored and reimagined by specialists Classic Car Revivals. The body was stripped back to bare metal, with all corrosion dealt with accordingly, and refinished in the stunning, glassy Merlin Purple metallic paintwork you see today. The five-speed gearbox and engine have been subject to a full rebuild and detail, which sees the car uprated from a 3.0 to a 3.2 litre short stroke engine which is completed with a bespoke stainless exhaust system and modern electronic fuel injection system with a billet individual throttle body set up and Link ECU. The suspension and braking system have also been fully rebuilt and detailed with uprated Powerflex bushes and Bilstein shock absorbers, coupled with custom built Billet six-pot and four-pot brakes. Fitted with a custom set of 17" wheels, detailed in satin white and polished aluminium and shod with a set of Michelin tyres. Under bonnet has received the same treatment with custom panelling in leather. The Targa roof has also been disassembled, detailed and restored with new rubbers throughout. Other desirable modifications include the genuine Hella projector LED headlights, Billet wing mirrors and the centre fill fuel tank adding to the Resto-mod style. The interior is in superb order and includes a set of Recaro wing back seats in custom houndstooth woven leather, supplied and fitted by a reputable Porsche interior trimmer. Also fitted is a beautiful Momo steering wheel to match the purple theme throughout, along with a Porsche Classic Communication Management System which has Apple Car play, Bluetooth and DAB radio.Having covered a mere 352 miles since its restoration, this 911 is in excellent condition throughout and is offered with a photographic record of the extensive restoration, various bills and invoices, and the V5C registration document. With its exceptional attention to detail and offering a punchy 274bhp this is the best Resto-mod example we have seen to date and one which is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

1982 Porsche 911 Targa Transmission: manualMileage:104418The iconic 911 can trace its history back some 44 years; its family tree containing such memorable cars as the 911S, the 2.7 Carrera RS and the notorious Turbo. The landmark SC replaced all non-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims and flared wings, it was offered in either Coupé or Targa form. Power came from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and a five-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to a maximum of 144mph.Originally registered on 1st January 1982, this Porsche Targa presents in delightful condition. The coachwork is virtually unmarked as is the black and grey interior. Clearly this has been a very well looked after example, as confirmed by the significant history folder. The fastidious private owner talks with enthusiasm about this 911 Targa and clearly, he will be sad to see it go. We are advised NCF 681X drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th June 2024 and a good history folder, this Porsche is a great example of the fast appreciating 1970's and 1980's 911.

2004 Porsche 911 / 996 Turbo S Transmission: manualMileage:61800The 996 model is a superb car; quick, reliable, well-made and representing the birth of the water-cooled 911. With a wide range of models on offer, the most iconic is, of course, the Turbo. Featuring four-wheel drive and a 3.6 litre, intercooled engine derived from the 1998 Le Mans winning GT-1 car pushing out 420bhp and hitting 60mph in a whisker over four seconds, this is genuine supercar territory. The 996 was seen as a more relaxed and usable 911; however, in Turbo guise, the driver would get the best of both worlds; a luxury leather interior with every creature comfort combined with the ability to drop the hammer and reach a top speed of a claimed 190mph. In 2002, the X50 package was offered as an option on the Turbo that included larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, a revised ECU and quad-pipe exhaust which raised power output to 444bhp, however in 2005, Porsche introduced the Turbo S model available as either a coupé or cabriolet. The Turbo S was essentially a 996 turbo with the X50 option but also included PCCB, six-disc CD changer and aluminium-faced instruments. Worldwide production for the 996 Turbo S (including both Coupé and Cabriolet) was 1,563 cars. This makes this model very limited in numbers.A collectable and rare example of the 911 presented in Artic Silver with contrasting black leather trim, this example of the iconic Turbo S was first registered on 4th October 2004. Originally a Porsche Press car and featured in magazines, copies of which can be found in the history file. Costing when new a shade under £100,000, this example has covered a mere 61,800 miles and presents well for a privately owned example. Importantly, a manual example of the ultimate incarnation of the 996 Turbo, this is one of just 1,563 units produced of a desirable Turbo S boasting the X50 engine and believed to be one of less than 60 UK manual cars. Upon inspection it was advised the car would benefit from new tyres and a wheel refurbishment, but our vendor has sensibly taken this into account when pricing the car allowing a new owner to adorn the Turbo S with their own choice. The bodywork and trim are all in very good order and the car recently obtained an MoT test certificate which is valid until July 2024 with the only advisories regarding tyre wear. The car boasts just six former keepers in its 19 years along with the original magazine from its use a press car and a large folder of paperwork and invoices. We are informed the car drives very well and is still eye wateringly fast as it should and, as a flagship Turbo S made at the end of the 996 generation's life, comes with the X50 option pack as factory standard. This includes larger turbochargers and intercoolers that propel the car to 60mph in four seconds and combined with Porsche's excellent stability control, makes for a sensational and satisfying drive. This stunning example is an ideal usable modern classic investment that can be fully enjoyed at a fraction of the original cost.
