1988 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera TargaRegistration no. F197 MLLChassis no. WP0ZZZ91ZJS141127Odometer reading: 85,000 MOT Expiry: December 2021 *Sought after Carrera 3.2 G50 Targa*Low warranted mileage*Touring Spec*Large history file with Porsche service history Beautiful example of one of the greatest air cooled 911s. From a private collection this Porsche 3.2 Targa has been impeccably maintained and cherished by enthusiast owners from new. The car itself is also fairly unique, as it was specified from new in December 1988 as a 'Touring Specification'.More discreet, it contrasts to the much more common 'spoilers and flares' 'bankers bonus cars' if the late eighties. This non-sport specification includes the deletion of the front spoiler and whale tail boot lid, and includes the very rare 15' Fuch alloy wheels with slightly higher price tyres. The car is in an excellent condition, and the Guards Red paintwork still presents beautifully. The 3.2-litre flat-six engine has also been carefully maintained with a full Porsche specialist service history, and is paired with the improved G50 five-speed gearbox. This, combined with the electric black leather seats and 15' Fuch alloy wheels really give a sense comfort, but with no impact on the cars impressive performance. This example was also featured in 911 and Porsche World Magazine in 2014 where Specialist Porsche JournalistJohnny Tipler said: ' it has the best ride quality because of its tall tyres and 15-inch rims', thus proving that this combination strikes the ideal balance that's rare in a 911 of this era. The mileage is also relatively low at 85,000 miles, and there is a large history file that includes a fully stamped service book, original handbook package and kit. The original non-spoiler boot lid is also available with the car. This is a rare and stunning example ready to enjoy To view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 97/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1976 Porsche 911 Targa 2.7 SRegistration no. MHY 94PChassis no. 9116211656Odometer reading: 108,887MOT: Exempt*LHD US-spec example*Extensive recent history*Full engine rebuild in 2014Footnotes:For the 1974 model year, the Porsche 911 received its first design overhaul since its introduction in 1964. This included a raised bumper design with black plastic bellows, as well as a new red panel with the Porsche logo embedded between the rear light cluster. In 1974, the 911 was also available with a new 'ducktail' spoiler design, which was optional in Europe but became standard on all US-spec models. This 1976 Porsche 911S Targa is a US specification example that is equipped with the 2.7-litre 173bhp flat-six engine. It comes with an extensive recent history from its purchase in Pennsylvania by the vendor in July 2013. The vehicle was found to be in good condition with no signs of corrosion. Once the car arrived in the UK it was given to a trusted Porsche specialist WrightTune, who undertook significant work including a full vehicle check and an engine and gearbox service. It was also prepared for UK road safety laws, which included replacing the rear light lenses with European specification and head lamp glass with UK beam pattern. In August 2014 a full engine rebuild was also undertaken. This was due to smoke from the exhaust on over run and during hard acceleration. Following the rebuild the engine is now running and driving very well and as it should. Other work on the car includes a full Targa top refurbishment. There is good history with the car and it comes with its original owner's manual and service book. The service book is void of stamps however, so it is believed to be a replacement. The bodywork, paintwork and interior all present very well. This is an excellent and usable example of a modern classic Porsche.Vendor Score Total: 79/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1999 Porsche 911 (Type-996) Convertible with HardtopRegistration no. T183 SHLChassis no. WPOZZZ99ZXS643413Odometer reading: 95,000MOT: Expired *Type-996 Convertible*Rare 6-speed manual*Porsche Sports suspension with shock absorbersTo view a video of this lot please click hereFootnotes:Produced between 1996 and 2004, the Porsche Type-996 debuted the first all-new platform in a 911 for 34 years, and is known to be one of the best driving 911s ever produced. This 1999 example is in good condition overall. The silver paint and bodywork both present well, and are both thought to be a period colour combination with the black leather interior. The car has a high specification and features the factory sports suspension with shock absorbers as well as a Porsche sports exhaust. It also features a 6-speed manual gearbox for added driver engagement. Unfortunately there is little history with the car (bar the original drivers handbook), but the 3.4-litre flat-six engine is reported to be running and driving well. It has been unused since the summer of 2017, so recommissioning is recommended prior to retuning to active use.Vendor Score Total: 65/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. The S2 was arguably the 944 at its best with its 3.0-litre engine offering performance that could easily match a 911 of the same era. This car is a prime UK example that has had extensive work carried out during its ownership.Purchased by the vendor in August 2013, the car has received a complete refurbishment and restoration of the brakes, suspension, wheels, and more importantly the bodywork and paintwork. This included two new genuine Porsche front wings and sills being fitted, which helped to remove all rust from the vehicle. 4 brand new Uniroyal Rain Sport 5 tyres have been fitted along with a full wheel refurbishment. Inside, the car is in very good condition considering the mileage. Mechanically, the car is also very sound and has recently had a new cam and balance belt fitted in June 2021; also an oil and filter (Porsche part) change. There is also a large history file which also includes a comprehensive service history record. The car is reported to be running and driving very well and as it should. WP0ZZZ99ZTS370260Odometer reading: 91,466MOT: May 2022 *993 Turbo*UK RHD car*Large history fileFootnotes:First registered at Lancaster, Bow on 14 April 1995, this Porsche 993 Turbo is a genuine UK right-hand drive example that is presented in very good condition. Finished in Polar Silver Metallic, the paintwork is presenting very well for its age, and the Marble grey/black leather interior is also in very good order. Over its lifetime the car has been very well maintained with main dealer stamps up until 84,000 miles. This has resulted in demand being satisfied by the replica-building industry. Built by Porsche Spyder Inc specialist Rob Lindsay in 2003, this 718 RSK replica is powered by an air-cooled 2.2-litre Volkswagen engine incorporating a counterweighted long-stroke crankshaft, 'I'-beam con-rods; lightened and balanced flywheel with heavy-duty clutch plate and a high-performance camshaft and followers. The engine breathes via twin carburettors and drives via an up-rated gearbox incorporating side pressure plates. Other noteworthy features include a front disc brake conversion (retaining the traditional 5-stud slotted steel wheels and hubs), large-bore full stainless-steel exhaust system with central single exit pipe, alloy fuel filler cap, luggage box under rear body section, and low Perspex screens as per the original racers. It also boasts original Porsche badging including 'Wendler' coachbuilder's badges and 'Nürburgring' plaque on the driver's side. The car is appropriately finished in silver with red leather interior, the latter featuring a MotoLita wood-rim steering wheel. A 4-point harnesses on each seat, Porsche style mint green instrument dials, billet aluminium knobs and switches and a push button starter complete the interior. This convincing Porsche 718 RSK replica has covered a mere 7,047 miles since completion and is in very good overall condition, complete with a fresh MOT and V5C.Vendor Score Total: 97/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 2017 Porsche 911 (Type 991.2) Turbo S CoupéRegistration no. VA17 EAFChassis no. WP0ZZZ99ZJS151197Odometer reading: 11,159MOT Expiry: 15 April 2022*Low mileage Turbo S*High specification*Fitted with optional carbon ceramic brakes The 991 Porsche 911 is one of the most well-rounded and thrilling generations of Porsche's famous rear-engined sports car. The car was faster and lighter thanks to greater use of aluminium, but also more comfortable than ever before. The Turbo S in particular is the pinnacle of the 911 range, offering the best balance of comfort and performance before moving towards track orientated models such as the GT3 and GT3 RS. This example is a 991.2 model which was introduced in 2016. It featured updated styling, more interior tech (such as a radar guided lane-change assist), and a power increase from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo charged flat-six, now producing 572bhp in Turbo S form (an increase of 36bhp over the Turbo). This resulted in a staggering 0-62mph sprint time of just 2.9 seconds. First registered on 29 July 2017, this example is a very high specification Turbo S and features the upgraded Burmeister sound system, panoramic glass sunroof, and the Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brake Package (with yellow painted callipers). The car is in excellent condition and has a very low mileage of 11,159 miles, and also features its original owners handbook. This model is also fitted with the 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission which offers fast and precise shifts, and also a much more relaxing driving experience when desired. The 991 911 is an incredible modern sports car and the Turbo S only emphasises its impressive performance. This is a well-cared for example presented in an excellent condition.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 93/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1989 BMW 635 CSi Highline Transmission: automaticMileage:82802Successor to the race proven E9 3.0CS/CSi, the BMW 6-Series was introduced in August 1976, it utilised a modified version of the 5-Series saloon platform equipped with all-round independent suspension and powerful disc brakes. A natural rival to the 928 and XJS, the four-seater 6-Series proved more capacious than the Porsche and sportier than the Jaguar. Immediately recognisable thanks to its distinctive 'shark nose' frontal styling and thin pillared glasshouse, it boasts real road presence. Second only to the BMW Motorsport tuned M6 version, the 635CSi's 3430cc unit developed some 216bhp and 232lbft of torque propelling it from 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds and on to 135mph.Supplied new to Harry Fairbairn Ltd on 29th September 1989, this example of one of the 80’s most iconic sports cars is presented in lovely deep Royal Blue coachwork with contrasting sumptuous Highline specification grey leather trim. Boasting remarkably low mileage for a car that is so accustomed to gobbling up the miles, this example is offered in fabulous order with, at the time of viewing, the vendor stating that all electrical buttons are working correctly. Our vendor has owned the car for some 26 years and is just the third owner of G457 ONS which has always been garaged during his tenure. 25 stamps can be found in the service booklet and an extensive history file including every MoT test certificate during his tenure and numerous invoices from servicing and parts. A truly cherished example, it has also been recently treated to a full body detail and looks stunning. The original book pack is found alongside an MoT test certificate valid until March 2022, this is a very good example of the now, ultra desirable, 635 CSi and with a very attractive estimate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1992 Porsche 944 S2 Transmission: manualMileage:105706The Porsche 944 S2 was introduced in 1989, powered by a 208hp normally aspirated, dual overhead cam 16 valve 3.0 L version of the 944 S engine. The largest production 4 cylinder engine of its time, it featured a bore of 104 mm (4.1 in) and a stroke of 88 mm (3.5 in). The 944 S2 also received a revised gearbox to better suit the 3.0 litre engine. The 944 S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. The manual transmission cars quoted performance figures of a 6.0 seconds 0–97 km/h acceleration time, (0–100 km/h being achieved in 6.8 seconds) and a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph).Finished in the striking combination of Alpine White with Cobalt Blue upholstery, ‘J73 KLR’ is understood to have been retained by supplying dealer AFN Porsche (London) Ltd for use as a demonstrator and indeed still wears ‘AFN’ branded number plates. Having covered 105,600 miles from new (a figure substantiated by 22 service entries and 26 MoT certficates), the 2+2-seater was originally specified with headlamp washers, leather seats, automatic heating control and an electric sunroof. Treated to a cambelt change at 104,052 miles, the 944 S2’s last main dealer service was carried out at 103,913 miles by Porsche Swindon. Presenting in fabulous condition throughout this is a real 90’s icon and reflects a car with half the mileage. 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa Transmission: manualMileage:104002The Porsche 911 is a luxury two-door sports coupé. It has a distinctive design, rear engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooled until the introduction of the Type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in autumn 1963, it has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained little changed.Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition. It is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid 1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth. This well presented, right hand drive, 911 SC Targa is offered in striking metallic red paintwork over a contrasting black interior with houndstooth inserts. Acquired by the current vendor in 2009, this 911 has been part of his private collection ever since and has been used occasionally during his tenure. The vendor reports that this Porsche is huge amounts of fun to drive and the engine and gearbox are working well. The paintwork and Targa top are both generally very good with few minor blemishes to report as is the interior which is in good order throughout, reflecting the originality of the car. The sizeable history file that accompanies this car includes many bills and invoices for previous maintenance work, the current UK registration document and various old MoT test certificates and a current MoT test certificate valid until November 2021. Fitted with a five-speed gearbox, this 911 is arguably the most desirable of examples and is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1972 Datsun 240Z Transmission: manual Mileage:87703 It soon became apparent during its creation, that the Datsun 240Z represented all the requirements of sports-minded drivers by fulfilling their desires for superb styling, power and safety whilst providing them with the most thrilling and enjoyable ride available in any car at that time. Reporting 151bhp and 146lb/ft of torque at just 4,400rpm, Car & Driver said, ‘a brilliantly conceived car with twice as much thought having gone into it when compared to the Big Healey, MGC, Lotus Elan, Porsches and Corvettes’. Offering a 125mph top-speed and the 0-60mph dash in a shade under eight seconds, the well-spaced five-speed gear ratios made the most of the engine’s torque whilst retaining the ability to achieve in excess of 30mpg, this was to put the ‘Z’ ahead of many of its contemporaries and on a par with Porsche 911’s of the time. Very impressive, by anyone’s standards. Although Datsun didn’t invent the overhead-cam engine, disc brakes or all-round independent suspension, the 240Z incorporated all of these systems into a brilliantly conceived car. It was no surprise therefore that, for many years the Datsun 240Z was heralded as the most successful sports car of all time and was very successful in rallying also. The original bill of sale included with the cars history file shows that it was bought new from Datsun Palm Beach by a Nancy Vaughn on 29th September 1972 for $4,355, trading in her 1971 Volkswagen in exchange. The car remained in Florida within the family until 2012. Mr. Vaughn, a retired engineer, had spent some years upgrading and developing the car before his death. Mr. Vaughn had removed the original engine and gearbox, (which comes with the car) and swapped it for a 2.8 litre engine uprated with a Garrat T3 turbo with T4 internals through a 45 Weber carburettor, intercooler and uprated ignition, cooling, adjustable suspension and rare 15” Einkiel split rim wheels on Toyo tyres. Supplied with the car are small index cards on which he noted all the work he carried out. The car was stored in a garage at the family home for a few years after his death before the vendor acquired the car and imported it to the UK in 2012. The vendor reports the car to run and drive incredibly well and upon inspection it shows no obvious signs of rust. Since his ownership the car has always remained garaged and he has, over the years, refined and finessed the modifications made by Mr. Vaughn, also fitting larger, more powerful, four-pot brakes on vented and grooved discs.Supplied with its V5C registration document, original handbook, spare key, history file, original receipt, old MoT test certificates, original engine, carburettors, gearbox and a rare injection inlet manifold, (should the new owner wish to go that route). This remarkably solid and straight car from all its years being garaged and well cared for, offers everything you could hope for from the classic 240Z without the usual corrosion worries. In its present form it is incredibly quick, but all the parts are there to return it to stock form, should one wish to. Interested parties should note that the original engine and gearbox that come with the car will be available for pick up from North London. The vendor has offered to deliver them within a 100 mile distance. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 236

1989 Porsche 928 S4 Transmission: automaticMileage:59567These fabulous sports cars were unveiled at the Geneva Salon in 1977 and voted Car of the Year for 1978. It was intended as an upmarket replacement for the long-running 911 but in the event Porsche's rear-engined classic would outlive its younger sibling. The front-engined 928's stylish hatchback body featured aluminium doors, bonnet and front wings in the interests of weight saving, while ingenious impact resistant 'bumpers' made of colour matched plastic were incorporated into the nose and tail. A five-speed transaxle gearbox or three-speed automatic were the transmission options, in 1979 the 928S with its 4.6 litre engine arrived and then in 1986 the model was further revised and restyled, becoming the 928 S4. Its engine producing 320bhp courtesy of twin-cam, 16 valve cylinder heads and enlargement to 4,957cc, the S4 enjoyed a welcome top speed boost to 160mph.Originally registered in Jersey by Five Oaks Porsche Centre and imported to the UK in July 1994, this fabulous example is presented in its original silver paint with full burgundy leather interior and seats with multicolour cloth seat inlays. Its optional equipment is listed as having recoil bumpers, automatic transmission, Series 4 logo, lumbar support in the driver’s seat and a ten CD/ player radio. Its mighty V8 provides plenty of power for those who wish to travel a little more exuberantly or indeed it is just as at home pottering along in the confines of a city. The car comes with a copy of its Porsche Certificate of Authenticityand we believe that in July 2016 various works were carried out by Porsche Centres at a cost of circa £10,000. The car also comes with a full set of Continental N1 tyres and two sets of keys. Porsche Club GB members eulogise over this car for being totally original and having several details that have been lost on many 928's.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 258

1989 Porsche 911 SC Transmission: manualMileage:37354The Porsche 911 is a luxury two-door sports coupé with a distinctive design, rear engine and independent rear suspension; an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. It has undergone continuous development although the basic concept has remained little changed. Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition and is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid-1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 Turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth. It is one of two in the top five that had remained continuously in production (the original Beetle remained in production until 2003) and was until 1998, the most successful surviving application of the air cooled, horizontally opposed rear-engine layout. This fabulous looking Porsche has been an exceptionally well cared for example having had one owner from its original registration date of 1st August 1989 until 8th November 1996 and only one owner since then. Finished in metallic grey with black leather interior and a black hood, this low mileage example is in the condition commensurate with such a low mileage car. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 18th November 2021 and a history folder. Enjoy the rest of the summer in this open top classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 268

1997 Porsche 911 / 993 Carrera 2 S Transmission: automaticMileage:62965The Porsche 993 is the company's internal name for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between late 1993 and early 1998. Its discontinuation in 1998 marked the end of air-cooled Porsches. Like previous generations of the Porsche 911, there were several variants of the car manufactured, varying in body style, drive trains, and included equipment. The Carrera 4 S of 1996 and later 1997 Carrera S shared the Turbo model's bodyshell but housed the naturally aspirated Carrera engine in the rear. The 4S came with four-wheel drive and retained the Turbo model's larger brake discs with the characteristic red calipers. It could be described as a ‘Turbo without the turbochargers and rear wing’, whereas the S was in all aspects a standard Carrera underneath (the wider rear wings were compensated with 31mm wheel spacers. Both S models had slightly lowered suspension compared to standard Carrera models.Originally supplied by Lancaster Bow and registered on 1st January 1997, this Porsche has been owned by the vendor since 3rd December 2007. The car has been lovingly cared for by him and all the previous owners with 18 stamps in the service book, the last being carried out on 4th November 2020 at 62,796 miles. The Arena Red coachwork is in good condition as is the Marble Grey interior. As can be expected for such a low mileage example, the entire external bodywork emits a deep glossy shine overall with all glass and lenses remaining clear and free from any cracks or crazing. The seats, door cards, switches, door cappings, dashboard and headlining are totally unmarked. Carpets and mats also remain in fine order. The engine started immediately when requested and ran smoothly, we are advised she drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with an MoT test certificate valid until 18th October 2021 and the original service books. Having been used sparingly by the vendor, this 993 Carrera 2 S is arguably, one of the best ever Porsche 911’s produced, and even by today standards, certainly no slouch!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 503

1986 Porsche 924S, 2,479cc. Registration number C232 DAH. Chassis number WPOZZZ92ZGN402901. Engine number unknown. The Porsche 924 was put into production in 1975, it was the company?s first front engine, rear-wheel drive car, beating the 928 to market. A Bosch fuel injection system was standard giving 95bhp, the rear transaxle gearbox gave the car near perfect weight distribution for outstanding handling. In 1984, Volkswagen decided to stop making the 2.0-litre engine blocks which left Porsche in somewhat of a dilemma. The 924 was considerably cheaper than the 944, so dropping the model would leave a void in the range. The decision was therefore made to fit a detuned version of the 944?s 163bhp 2.5-litre engine. The suspension was upgraded, brakes beefed up and five lug wheels added, thus in 1986 the 924S was born, with power stated as being 148bhp. The 924S had a short life as in 1989 Porsche dropped it from sale along with the base 944, deciding instead to concentrate on more upmarket cars. DAH, with black leather and a sunroof, was first registered in June 1986 and last MOT'd in 2011 at 81,266. It was found during a house clearance in York and apart from three tax discs from 2004/05 there is no paperwork. Please note that the engine turns over but will not fire, it appears the aftermarket immobiliser may be the issue. Sold with no paperwork, this 924 should be a relatively easy restoration project to get back on the road.
