1975 Jawa 50cc Moped Reg.no. JYS 292N Frame no. 72094 Engine no. 72094 Jawa Motokov is a motorcycle manufacturer based in the Czech Republic and was founded in Prague by Frantisek Janecek who bought the motorcycle division of Wanderer in 1929. The name Jawa was in fact devised as an amalgamation of the founders name and the name Wanderer. Jawa made a variety of mopeds with two-stroke engines, including the Babetta and was one of the first companies to include electronic ignition on their mopeds. This example was restored in 1999, during which time new piston rings were fitted, following which the bike has been stored in a collection. It has a V5c and old style log book. Guilmet "Steam Hammer" table clock, circa 1890. The case done in bronze with gilt brass trim in the form of an industrial steam hammer with piston cylinder at top .Having rectangular dial with Roman numerals and pierced breguet hands. Between the legs of the case frame is a silvered anvil and hammer which rocks up and down forming the visible portion of the complex pendulum. Has a round French brass movement with steel pin pallet escapement and strikes on a steel bell. Movement backplate stamped `Medaille d`or GLT Btf SGDG Paris` along with an indecipherable mark which is probably Japy Freres. 17.5"h x 12"w x 5.5"d. Starting Price $1000
A boxed pre-war German made model of a stationary engine, by Doll circa 1930, the plant sitting on a base 27.5cm x 23cm, the plant consists of a boiler and chimney approximately 28cm high. The housing and chimney in imitation brick effect tin plate, the boiler features a pressure valve, drain tap, safety valve and whistle driving a single horizontal piston with a fly-wheel 7cm diameter. The fly-wheel is linked to a generator lighting a single bulb, the model complete with funnel, burner, and filling container. The model has its original box but lacks makers label and is post-marked 10th December 1934 Manchester
A well engineered 3 1/2 inch gauge model of British Railways Class 9F 2-10-0 tender locomotive ‘Evening Star’, 92220, built by the late Mr Rowland Procter M.I.Mar.E. of Surrey to the LBSC design, the copper super-heated boiler with fittings including water sight glass and pressure gauge, regulator, wheel operated reverse gear, cab controlled drain cocks, safety valves, blower, injector, brakes, whistle and clack valve, the chassis detail including twin outside cylinders of 1 1/4 inch bore by 1 3/4 inch stroke, with Walschaert’s valve gear to piston valves, drain cocks operated from cab, fluted motion, smoke deflectors, eccentric driven lubricator, eccentric driven water pump, whistle, brake gear, rivet-work, steps, hand rails and lamp irons, the six-wheel tender with fittings including hand operated feed pump, steps, hand rails, lamp irons and rear ladder, finished in lined green and black livery with polished bright-work, 127cm long, the cab 17cm wide; together with a glazed display case and fitted track. Boiler History: Past history recorded at Bracknell & District Model Railway Society, 21st February 1980. Test pressure 120 psi. Working pressure 80 psi. Also a copy of the builder’s profile as submitted to ‘The Model Engineer’ for publication.
