New for 2015, this Special Edition, 'Time Attack' Viper offers 645bhp and 600ft/lbs of torque in a subtle shade of Brilliant Dozer.Desirable, limited-edition of a particularly special breed within the Viper lineage‘Time attack’ models turn things up to the very max by adding more performance to what is already a rather brisk carAmazing 8.4-litre V-10, 645bhp at 6,200rpm, 600lb.ft, 6-speed manual transmissionElectronic Fuel Injection, 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakesHorizon-bending performance with 0 - 60 in 2.9 seconds and 206mphOnly 2,365 miles from new. Presented in vibrant factory finish Brilliant DozerRecent MOT, oil and filter service at Unity Oxford on April 2021. UK-registered as LJ64 KVZVery rare on UK roads. A one-of-a-kind American super car, serious T/A weapon and will provide endless thrillsAfter a 2-year hiatus beginning in 2010, Dodge would revolutionize the Viper name with the introduction of the 5th generation in 2012. The essence would remain true to the Vipers of old: A large displacement V10 powering the rear wheels housed in a swooping body with a long bonnet. However, all the other finer details were subject to great change. Dodge had the defined goal of turning their once notorious widow maker into a more driver friendly, docile performer. Simultaneously, the interior fitments had to be a comfortable and luxurious place to be. These goals would all be thoroughly achieved with the new car. Every performance metric was increased thanks to 840bhp from the 8.4-litre engine, 4-piston Brembo brakes delivering immense stopping power, massive Pirelli tires glueing the car to the road and an aluminium and carbon construction ensuring both stiffness and light weight. Most importantly, computer aided traction control systems made their first appearance ever on a Viper, greatly decreasing the likelihood of wheelspin. This was a fundamentally much more refined car and would be competitive with just about all of its contemporary rivals. The vehicle on offer, a TA 2.0 specification, is a particularly special breed within the Viper lineage. These 'Time Attack' models turn things up to the max by adding more performance to what is already a really quick car. The suspension stiffened all around thanks to retuned Bilstein shocks, increased spring rates, thicker roll bars, and a carbon fibre cross-brace under the bonnet. Lighter wheels and more powerful Brembo brakes round out the mechanical updates. Aerodynamically is where the most dramatic upgrades occurred. A more aggressive two-piece splitter is fitted up front and the rear received a larger carbon spoiler. The 2.0 TA seen here is a development of the 1.0 package and includes all the features listed plus a large rear wing and canards up front boosting downforce to 400lbs at 150mph. Delivered new to San Diego, California in 2015, finished in a retina-singeing shade of orange known as 'Brilliant Dozer', this left-hand drive, manual gearbox, V10 TA 2.0 Viper has had just two owners since leaving the factory. It was imported to the UK in 2018, registered as ‘LJ64 KVZ’ and has resided in his significant private collection ever since. The odometer indicates that it has only covered 2,365 miles from new and appears in excellent condition today. In April of this year it was sent to ‘Unity Oxford’ for an oil and filter service along with a fresh MOT ensuring its ready for its next owner to enjoy the serious performance on offer here. A very rare and desirable car, especially on UK roads, this is a one-of-a-kind American super car, serious T/A weapon and will provide endless thrills.SpecificationMake: DODGEModel: VIPER TA 2.0 6-SPEED COUPEYear: 2015Chassis Number: 1C3ADEAZ9FV510303Registration Number: LJ64 KVZTransmission: ManualEngine Number: P05045513CB Drive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 2371 MilesMake: LHDClick here for more details and images

Travis engined bicycle, 1.5hp, c. 1950. Engine serial number 1515.The Travis Motor Kit was built by Power Products of Chicago, Illinois, who specialised in innovative small two-stroke engines for auxiliary bicycle power. Power Products supplied the flat-twin two-stroke motor for the Monark Twin-powered bicycle, and its own Travis Motor, sold independently, was intended for Scwhinn bicycles. It?s a very simple single-cylinder two-stroke engine with an aluminum cylinder and head, an aluminum piston and a forged crankshaft that was fully balanced for durability and smoothness. Two engine capacities were offered: a 1.5 HP kit and 1 HP kit, which are distinguishable by the size of the fuel tank attached to the motor?the 1 HP model?s fuel tank looks like a canteen. The kits sold for $69.99 to $89.99 in 1948, depending on the power output, and weighed only 17 pounds. The handlebar-mounted throttle (built by Tyco in Chicago) was combined with the decompressor to stop the motor. Ignition was by the flywheel magneto under that shapely domed cover. There is no history or paperwork with this unusual machine that should be a relatively easy to get running.

1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2-Litre Supersport TargaRegistration no. C740 KARChassis no. WP0ZZZ91ZGS140939•One of only 15 'C16', UK-supplied cars with M491 Supersport Equipment•Owned by the present (second) owner since 2006•30,673 miles recorded•Outstandingly originalFootnotes:Development of the Porsche 911 Targa proceeded in line with that of its closed coupé cousin, the most notable advances immediately prior to the manufacture of this 1986 model having included the introduction of the 3.2-litre engine for 1984. Although it remained an air-cooled 'flat six', the '3.2' was 80% new and incorporated an effective cam chain tensioner and associated lubrication system that at last addressed a perennial 911 shortcoming. With 230bhp on tap, the new 'boxer' motor endowed the Carrera with a stunning level of performance, the bald statistics being a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 152mph. Although it enjoyed a 52 horsepower advantage, the Turbo was only marginally faster, having a top speed of 157mph, while most considered the normally aspirated 911 Carrera easier to drive. For the increasing number of customers that coveted the Turbo's distinctive 'wide body' look but did not need its marginally superior performance, Porsche introduced the SSE package, also known as the Supersport, which could be specified for other models in the 911 range. In addition to the wide body, the SSE (option code M491) included the Turbo's spoilers; suspension; four-piston brake callipers; 16' forged alloy wheels; and low-profile tyres. Only 75 right-hand drive examples were delivered to the UK, of which a mere 15 were Targa models like that offered here. This limited-series Turbo Look 911 was purchased by the current vendor (its second owner) on 26th March 2006 and has been kept garaged at all times. The car retains all its original sales paperwork from Lancaster Porsche listing the factory-fitted options: limited-slip differential; graduated top-tint windscreen; Pearl White piping, etc. It was displayed at Porsche Colchester at the launch of the Type 997 Targa and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. The vendor advises us that the car is in its original condition with all stickers and bar codes intact. Although it does not have full service history, all MoT certificates and road tax discs (until they ceased) are present. Currently displaying a total of 30,673 miles on the odometer, this rare limited-series 'Targa-top' Porsche is MoT'd to 4th September 2021 and comes with a V5C document. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 607

1959 MV Agusta 175 ProjectFrame no. 920155Engine no. 920094MV Agusta introduced its first production four-strokes at the Milan Show in 1952, with production of the 175cc CS, CSS, and CST commencing in 1954. The newcomers' advanced overhead-cam, unitary construction engine set them apart from most of the opposition, while their cycle parts too were state-of-the-art, consisting of a duplex loop frame incorporating the engine as a stressed member, oil-damped telescopic front fork, swinging-arm rear suspension and full-width alloy hubs. MV's OHC 175s lasted until 1959, by which time they had effectively been superseded by a range of pushrod over-head valve models: Turismo, Turismo Economica, America, and America Lusso, as seen here. Apparently an unfinished project, this cosmetically restored machine is missing its carburettor, speedometer, and electrical wiring. We are advised that the engine was rebuilt in 2019 and the machine comes with an invoice for a new piston (dated December 2018). The engine turns over with compression. There is no import paperwork with this Lot, which is offered for completion and sold strictly as viewed.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 632

1957 Itom 50cc Super SportFrame no. 36003Engine no. 115161/SFounded in Turin in 1948, Industria Torinese Meccanica began manufacturing clip-on power units for bicycles under the 'Itom' brand name before offering its first complete machine in 1950. Itom progressed from producing utilitarian mopeds to making small motorcycles, many of which carried designations such as Sport, Super Sport and Competizione, and thus were guaranteed to appeal to Italy's speed-obsessed youth. In 1959 pedals ceased to be mandatory for such machines in Italy, though they continued to be fitted to export models if required. A factory tuning kit was available for racing, comprising a high-compression cylinder head, cylinder with chromed bore and suitable piston, Dell'Orto 20mm carburettor, and an expansion chamber exhaust. Believed un-restored, this pedal-equipped Itom sports moped displays a total of 5,642 kilometres on the odometer. There are no documents with this Lot, which is offered for restoration and sold strictly as viewed.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 643

1980 Moto Morini 344cc '3½' SportFrame no. K-20498Engine no. none visibleBefore the arrival of its family of 72-degree v-twin roadsters, Morini's reputation had rested mainly on its highly successful double-overhead-cam single-cylinder racers. An entirely different approach was adopted for the v-twins: each cylinder's two valves were pushrod-operated by a single camshaft while the combustion chambers were located, not in the flat-faced cylinder heads, but in the piston crowns. Coupled to a six-speed gearbox, this superb motor's performance belied its lack of capacity, endowing the lightweight, nimble-footed Morini with a top speed of around 100mph. Sport and Strada (touring) versions were made, early models having drum brakes, later ones discs. Apparently original and un-restored, this K-series '3½' Sport displays a total of 47,299km on the odometer. Imported at date unknown, the machine is offered with an invoice dated June 2019 for oil and a battery. We are advised that this motorcycle was a runner when placed in storage and that it has been cosmetically tidied up: frame painted, new pipes, etc. There is no import paperwork with this Lot. The vendor has had the machine running recently.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 652

1980 Moto Guzzi 493cc V50 Mk IIRegistration no. BBR 377WFrame no. VE17014Engine no. 17623The Mark II version of Moto Guzzi's popular V50 is regarded as the best of the model that brought the pleasure of relaxed Italian style riding to the classic world. This little brother of the sleek and dynamic Le Mans and the long-legged 1000cc Spada made the concept of the company's transverse vee-twin available to those with more modest budgets to buy into the world of one of Italy's most famous motorcycle brands. Designed by the renowned Lino Tonti, the V50 featured two pushrod operated valves per cylinder with the combustion chamber inside the piston, in the heron head style of Moto Morini's famous 350cc twin. A dry single plate clutch, five-speed transmission and shaft final drive offered well proven technology that offered 40bhp to propel a neatly detailed machine for commuting or touring. This example was in the long-term ownership of a member of the Edge and District Motorcycle Club, who had developed such an affection for the bike that he bequeathed it to a fellow member in the knowledge that it would be properly appreciated and maintained. Since then, it has covered very few miles, kept in a dry shed and given the care appropriate to such a generous gesture. The proceeds from this sale will be paid into motorcycle charities. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Ex-Ray McCullough 1966 Bultaco 250cc TSS Racing MotorcycleFrame no. B-600 600Engine no. M600-600-D6•Supplied by Irish Bultaco importer, Harry Lindsay•Known ownership history•Rebuilt by marque specialists Kevin Breedon RacingSpurred on by the successes achieved by tuned versions of its first model, the Tralla 101, Bultaco went one stage further and developed its first purpose-built racing motorcycle: the legendary TSS. Among the first racers to campaign the Spanish two-strokes in the UK were Tommy Robb and Dan Shorey, the latter taking the coveted ACU Star (British Championship) in the 125cc class in 1961. Armed with a 196cc TSS, Shorey enjoyed a phenomenal run of success in the 1962 250cc World Championship, twice finishing 4th behind a trio of works Hondas to end the year in 7th place overall. He also took the British 125 and 250cc Championships that same year. The factory went on to offer a full '250' from 1965 having developed it throughout 1964. Although successes at Grand Prix level were few, at national level the new water-cooled Bultacos were better than almost all the opposition. This Bultaco TSS was despatched on 3rd May 1966 to the late Harry Lindsay, Bultaco importer, trials guru and third generation motorcycle dealer, whose collection Bonhams sold in 2012 (see factory despatch record on file). Irish road-racing star Ray McCullough campaigned this machine with considerable success for three seasons (1966-1968), securing seven victories and a further seven podium placings (results sheet on file). The TSS was returned to Harry Lindsay at the end of the 1968 season and was sold directly to Neil Buckley, who campaigned the machine throughout 1969 until the crankshaft broke. Neil laid the bike up, forgotten, until circa 5-10 years ago. Since deceased, Neil was in poor health at the time and the TSS was offered to the current vendor, who entrusted Bultaco specialist (and racer) Kevin Breedon to rebuild the engine (piston, bearings, crankshaft, re-bore, etc). Sadly, the vendor has found little opportunity to do anything with the machine since, although he did reunite it with Ray McCullough (see images) who confirmed his exploits on it. Also on file is a letter to the vendor from Harry Lindsay, confirming the machine's provenance. There are no invoices for the aforementioned work, nor anything in writing from Ray, but it is evident that this is an important machine and worthy of inclusion in any racing stable. Some re-commissioning may be required before returning it to the track. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 702

Offered from the National Motorcycle Museum Collection 1996 Triumph 885cc Daytona Super IIIRegistration no. N468 JLXFrame no. SMT372DD7TJ031375Engine no. 372DDT031749Unveiled at the Cologne Show in the autumn of 1990, the born-again Triumph range consisted of three- and four-cylinder models named after iconic models of the past: Daytona, Trophy, and Trident. The most sporting of these were the Daytonas. Introduced in 1994, the limited-edition Super III was Triumph's attempt to elevate the Daytona's performance to a point where it could challenge the Japanese opposition. Cosworth were recruited to provide the required power increase, raising maximum output of the 885cc three-cylinder engine to 118bhp (up from 98). A liberal application of carbon fibre knocked a couple of pounds of the weight, while the Super III's six-piston 'brick wall' brakes received copious praise. Now, some 25 years later, these early Hinckley Triumphs are becoming increasingly collectible, and none more so than the limited-edition Super III. This Daytona Super III was sold new in Ohio, USA and comes with copies of the original bill of sale and 1999 Ohio Certificate of Title. In April 2000 the original owner imported the Triumph into the UK where it was registered as 'N468 JLX'. Additional documentation consists of SORN paperwork; some MoTs (most recent expired 2007); V5C New Keeper Supplement; and the service booklet stamped on four occasions, most recently in June 2005 at 9,016 miles (current reading 10,468 miles). The machine's mechanical condition is not known; accordingly, prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves with regard to its condition, completeness, correctness, or otherwise prior to bidding.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lot 760

1958 Velocette 500cc VenomRegistration no. YNN 896Frame no. RS10428Engine no. VM1944'YNN 896' has had an unusual history. Registered on 19th March 1958 in Nottingham, the machine evidently had several owners before entering the ownership of Alan Willey in 1982. When he moved to South Africa, he obviously liked the Venom so much, he decided to take the machine with him. When he returned in 2000, he brought it back with him and reclaimed the original UK registration it had carried from new. After repatriation he gave the machine to Clive Repik in 2002, when the Velo had an engine rebuild (see invoices on file). 'YNN 896' was eventually sold to the preceding owner in 2011, before passing to the deceased custodian in 2017. Reference to the history file suggests that the last owner covered approximately 1100 miles during his ownership. An email from the preceding owner suggests that few miles had been covered on the bike since the engine rebuild, and that 'It rides and handles very well, brakes well'. The late owner treated the bike to a new piston and rebore in 2019, along with a number of new parts. The Velo was last running in October 2019 and has been dry-stored since; it will, therefore, require light re-commissioning and basic safety checks prior to returning to the road with a new owner. Documentation comprises a current V5C, an old V5C, a copy old V5, an original RF60 continuation green log book dated 1966, a South African registration document, two service manuals, old MoTs, a dating letter confirming original engine and frame from factory records, invoices, and sundry papers. The machine is presently on SORN.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

1961 Velocette 499cc VenomRegistration no. WAS 764Frame no. RS16292Engine no. VM 5549To ride a good example of Velocette's 500cc 'Venom' is to experience the essence of British engineering knowledge translated onto two wheels. The strength of the enthusiasm for this iconic single cylinder machine is reflected in the strength of the Owners' Club and the prices good examples can command. This fine specimen was built in the same year that a factory prepared Venom averaged over 100mph for 24 hours at Montlhery, the first 500cc machine to do so and a record that still stands unequalled. It was purchased by the vendor in 2004, a well known member of the Owners Club whose restoration of a 1936 KTS proved to be a prize winner. This particular machine has been given careful attention and maintenance; 'Tidied up a bit' as the man himself very modestly puts it. It comes with the French built Alton electric start, which incorporates an alternator and with it a conversion of the electrical system to 12 volts, with an obvious bonus in terms of lighting. At some time in its life the machine has been fitted with another engine, for reasons not recorded in its history. It has been recently fitted with a new barrel and piston, since when it has covered only an estimated 25 miles. It will therefore require appropriate running-in when it returns to use. The proceeds from the sale of this machine will be donated to motorcycle charities. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

c.1981 Moto Morini 239cc C2Registration no. not UK registeredFrame no. J-03842Engine no. J-03842Before the arrival of its 72-degree v-twin roadsters, Morini's reputation had rested mainly on its highly successful double-overhead-cam single-cylinder racers. An entirely different approach was adopted for the v-twins: each cylinder's two valves were pushrod-operated by a single camshaft while the combustion chambers were located in the piston crowns. Coupled to a six-speed gearbox, this superb motor belied its lack of capacity, endowing the lightweight, nimble-footed 350 Morini with a top speed of around 100mph. The most commonly encountered version is the 350cc '3½', while the machine offered here (purchased in 2001) is an example of the much rarer '250'. Believed original and un-restored, the machine displays a total of 23,808 kilometres on the odometer and is offered for restoration. Apart from removing the cylinder heads for a 'de-coke', after which the machine was ridden around the garden, no work has been done since acquisition. Seeley 350cc Gold Star Replica Racing MotorcycleFrame no. S+P Mk3 R 001Engine no. BB33 8736 and 66 1641 162Many-times British sidecar champion Colin Seeley bought Associated Motor Cycles' racing department when the company went into receivership in 1966. The previous year he had constructed the first Seeley racing frame to house a Matchless G50 engine, and the AMC purchase enabled him to produce complete Seeley G50 and 7R machines. The Seeley frame progressed from the duplex cradle original to the similar but lighter Mark 2 before the down-tubes were abandoned with the Mark 3. Production of Seeley frames was later licensed to Roger Titchmarsh and there have been countless unauthorised copies made over the years. This Seeley-BSA was ridden by Bob Light's sponsored rider Lancelot Unissart. The machine's Seeley Mark 3-replica frame is believed to have been manufactured by two Peterborough-based engineers, one of whom was Pete Odell. The machine has a Roy Shearwood-prepared short-stroke engine (precise bore/stroke dimensions unknown), which breathes via a Dell'Orto carburettor and has Electrex World ignition. Other specification highlights include an oil cooler; TT Industries six-speed magnesium gearbox; Bob Newby belt primary drive; Maxton-modified Ceriani forks; Minnovation fork yokes; disc brakes (the front gripped by a 4-piston Sumitomo 'Blue Spot' calliper); and a KTM-type chain guide. The machine will require re-commissioning before returning to the trackFor further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Bob Light Aermacchi 350cc Racing Motorcycle ProjectFrame no. noneEngine no. 6A10889H3Aermacchi is a household name among motorcyclists thanks to its heroic achievement of producing the most highly developed and successful overhead-valve racing single ever. However, from the late 1960s onwards the works concentrated on developing its new 250 two-stroke twin. In a vain attempt to combat the increasingly dominant strokers, some Aermacchi privateers turned to alternative frames, the Drixton products of Swiss rider turned frame-maker Othmar 'Marly' Drixl being among the most popular. Despite a lack of ultimate success in Grands Prix, the Aermacchi single was outstandingly successful at national level and today, having benefited from another five decades of development, remains a competitive force in historic motorcycle racing. This Aermacchi's Seeley-like frame has been manufactured by Bob Light from 1⅛' steel tubing. The engine features a forged piston and con-rod; fully balanced crankshaft; new valves, springs and caps; Joy cams; Gardner carburettor; and PVL electronic ignition. The electric starter is still in place, reflecting the wet-sump engine's roadster origins. Other noteworthy features include Honda wheels and brakes (CB72/K4 front/rear); Ceriani Grand Prix forks; Minnovation Racing billet fork yokes; Koni rear suspension; Gardner carburettor; Drixton-type seat; and a beautiful alloy sprint tank made by Clive Ling. Never run, this is an unfinished but potentially most rewarding project.Lot to be sold without reserve. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

2012/2016 Wadkin-Snaith Brooklands Sprint SpecialTotally artisan built 500cc sprint machine constructed on the lines of a 1920’s Brooklands race bikeThe creation of specialist engineer Carl Wadkin-Snaith over a period of 4 years No castings were used for the engine and gearbox as all components were machined from solid using non C&C machines From the owner: A more complete version of this is available on Easy Live Auction.I selected the Suzuki DR800 engine as a donor for it's huge 90mm stroke and purchased one from a breaker on eBay. The plan was to use a Velocette piston for a long stroke 500cc. But on stripping the engine it turned out to be a 750 with 6mm shorter stroke, at this point my Father unfortunately died and returning the engine was obviously not a priority, so when work started again a Yamaha SR500 piston was selected for 500cc.CAD design work began in April 2012. Much midnight oil was spent with my artist's hat on to arrive at an aesthetically pleasing result, for example the cant of the engine was varied in 2° increments back and forth until I was happy. The DR engine has conventional modern gear primary drive on the right and rotates forward, I needed chain primary on the left to look period correct: As a consequence the engine had to rotate backwards, driving the upside down, flipped over DR gearbox internals in reverse for forward motion! It all sounds a little unlikely, but the gearbox dogs are not undercut and I'm relieved to say it all worked fine.Metal cutting began in late June 2012, no castings are used, everything carved from solid billet on my manual milling machines and lathes (no CNC). A vast amount of time was spent hand finishing the billetparts which I then bead blasted to give the illusion of castings. Much of the really tricky machining, of crankcase webs for example, was done on my trusty pre-WW2 Alexander Master Toolmaker milling machine, whereas the heavier work was completed on my large turret mill. After discovering period racing bike experiments with total loss battery ignition, it was decided to have the ignition on the end of the cam and drive the oil pump from the cam wheel. This pump is my own design; a simple feed and scavenge gear type. There are feeds to the end of the crankshaft and the camshaft/follower interface, scavenge from the bottom of the crankcase and the timing cover, the latter prevents excess oil leaking past the seal onto the digital ignition circuit board. I used the Pazon digital ignition; a very impressive unit with built in timing light and digital advance etc.I decided to go with the Mikuni Yamaha SR500 race carburettor as I hoped this would avoid aggravation setting up, this proved to be the case, only needing a change of pilot jet.The clutch was converted to chain driven dry operation by cutting off the primary drive gear and replacing it with a custom made sprocket incorporating the DR shock absorbing springs. The DR lifting mechanism is in the clutch cover, pulling the clutch off and obviously not suitable. By drilling right though the gearbox mainshaft I was able to convert the clutch to push off from the opposite side in the conventional manner. Despite now running dry the clutch works fine. Replicating the complex die cast interior of the Suzuki gearbox casing was probably the most difficult task in the whole construction saga. Initially I set the bike up with hand/knee change, partly because I had a nice piece of teak to make the knob; more on this later. The frame is my own design and manufacture and aimed at spinning the wheel rather than wheelying. I took a punt at the unidentified bare girder fork blades on eBay after no one showed interest, these were then bushed and a stem, spindles, links, yokes, steering damper etc made to suit. The spring is a modified auto jumble find. I bent the handlebars myself for the authentic Brooklands style, this proved to be a mistake as they were incredibly uncomfortable and impractical, they have since been replace with some flat bars. I was not happy with the quality of commercial classic style throttle and handlebar controls, the chrome plate just looked totally wrong too so I carved the clamps, choke control and a quick action throttle from billet steel. None period ball end levers are necessary to comply with ACU Regs.Front wheel is a from a Yamaha DT50 (21” rim) though I made a new period style backplate with anchor to suit my forks, plus an aluminium brake lever. Rear hub is from a Honda CB250RSA, much modified and laced into a 19” rim. Chainguards made to suit, the primary one having a quickly detachable outer plate as this is required for ACU competition events. I bent up the exhaust pipe with the characteristic large radius front bend myself and made the Brooklands can as the ones available just weren't right for the period, theoretically this should not protrude beyond the rear wheel for ACU sprints, though no one has noticed yet.The oil tank was a piece of cake compared to the petrol tanks: Fortunately only the right one needed to be leak free as the left is a dummy containing the Pazon ignition module, coil, ignition switch and gel battery (mounted upside down) for the total loss system. As a result the whole electrical system can be removed as one unit in minutes. This is secured with a couple of charity shop sourced leather belts.Apart from the exhaust pipe and handlebars I dull nickel plated everything myself. Fasteners are all stainless steel, the heads of commercial bolts were machined flat to be more in keeping with my period. Naturally I used slotted screws and traditional fabricinsulation tape where necessary.Since then I've refined various features, added an oil filter in the scavenge return and making primary chain adjusters. At the Brooklands Museum the bike flies up Test Hill, in fact the wide ratio DR750 gear set is ideally suited to the engine. The bike has proved an ideal publicity vehicle for my one man business resulting in some interesting projects, for example:A commission to design and build the new vintage style Wardill Motorcycle, subsequently officially launched at the Brooklands Museum in 2018, I recently completed the first production model. A one off fishtail silencer for the Perry Barwick/Brooklands Museum Freddie Clarke Triumph Tiger 80 replica, created using the only existing photo of the bike. A new billet front brake back plate incorporating improvements for a Parilla 175 MSDS racer. My Brooklands SS has been exhibited at two shows and won an award at both. It is always satisfying when older enthusiasts are thrown by the bike believing it to a genuine 20's racer, however when an auction house valuer said he could see it on display in a collector's house as a work of art I was delighted. I wonder what my Art School tutors would have thought?
