A 1937 New Imperial Model 46 De-Luxe, registration number HL 8578, frame number 35307, engine number 43210, maroon/chrome. New Imperial were unsurpassed for innovation during the 1930's introducing models with full unitary construction of the engine and gearbox and pivoted fork rear suspension to name just a few innovations. They also found great success in competition, with one of their many successes being the last British built machine to win the lightweight 250 TT (in 1936). The 350 cc Model 46 was introduced in 1936 along side its 250 cc Model 36 stable mate. They both featured new overhead valve unit construction engines. Initially they were both built with rigid frames, for 1937 the De-Luxe gained sprung rear frames, foot change gearbox, mag-dynamo ignition/lighting, chrome plated fuel tank and valance mudguards. This Model 46 De-Luxe was built in 1937 and was first registered in December 1939. A matching numbers machine which has been rebuilt by our vendor from a basket case, retaining as much originality as possible, but will require some final fettling. Noteworthy works carried out included the rebuilding of the engine with new big and main bearings, re-bore with new piston and rings, reconditioned oil pump, rebuilt magneto, new Burlem Amal carburettor, new exhaust downpipes and silencers, powder coated frame, rebuilt wheels with new bearings, stainless steel spokes and new tubes and tyres, plus numerous other components. The motorcycle will be offered for auction with a history file containing receipts and a letter from the vendor outlining works carried out. A 1936 BSA New Blue Star Q21 project, registration number HV 6760, frame number D 63058, engine number D21598, green/black. The New Blue Star Q21 is one of the rarest BSA models only being produced for one year (1936/37 ). They featured the 4.96hp OHV engine with high compression piston, special cam, twin upswept exhausts, instrument fuel tank panel, Amal carburettor and foot gear change. This delightful oily rag barn find project comes direct from a private collection. The machine would appear complete in all major respects and is ripe for a sympathetic or full restoration depending on your point of view. The BSA still retains its original transferable registration and will be offered for sale with a history file. A c1968 Cotton AJS Stormer 250cc twinshock scrambler, unregistered, frame number AJS CR 36961, blue. CR 36961 was originally campaigned by Norman Capstick and was restored by a previous owner in 2009. Since restoration the Cotton has not seen any competition and still presents well. The scrambler was built and tuned by the recognised marque authority Fluff Brown (1930/2013) with some works/trick modifications. They included the engine having boost ports and inlet side of piston skirt shortened by 3/16 inch and 370cc crankshaft and crankcases (works tuned specification) which has resulted in a stronger and more powerful engine. Further works undertaken were a stove enamelled frame, new clutch, alloy wheels, exhaust, cables, Betor front forks (John Giles tuned), works rear suspension, refurbished 36mm carburettor by Kevin Traill, Little Demon electronic ignition plus numerous other components associated with a thorough refurbishment. The Cotton will be offered for sale with a detailed break down of the works carried out, workshop manual, spare parts lists and other literature. The scrambler was checked over by Mike Hann of Bishops Caundle garage in 2017 give a clean bill of health and has not been used since. A 1967/68 Rickman Metisse BSA 441cc Victor twin shock scrambler, unregistered, red. This meticulously built and presented BSA is a wonderful example of the 441 Victor which was built by Richard Thomas, the renowned specialist competition bike builder from West Wales. Since then the bike has raced twice and completed the Red Marley hill climb in Worcestershire. Cherished and well looked after, the bike was built with an enormous amount of skill and attention to detail. A brief description of the specification is as follows: Rickman Metisse chassis Mk III A frame with red fibreglass tank, side panels and mudguards (new petrol tank and seat unit recently fitted); WorX rear shocks; Grimeca alloy hubs; period original Akront alloy wheel rims with stainless steel spokes (tapered for extra strength); specially machined rear sprocket to fit the hub; chrome period handlebars with Domino levers; engine kill switch; fast action alloy Swedish throttle; NEB balanced crankshaft; NEB clutch; Amal carburettor; all new bearings, shafts, oil seals, gaskets and bushes when built; close ratio Victor GP gearbox with high first gear; electronic ignition; compression ratio ten to one; SRM piston and taper rings; and alloy square barrel TR25W primary chain case, plus other components, too numerous to mention. There is a comprehensive list of all works carried out by Richard Thomas supplied with the motorcycle with receipts. This beautifully presented twin shock scrambler is said by the vendor to be ready to race or show as the next owner wishes, and offers tremendous value when compared with trying to replicate a similar bike today.
