Movies Harold Sakata and Gert Frobe signed German postcard. Harold Sakata, born Toshiyuki Sakata (July 1, 1920 - July 29, 1982) was an American Olympic weightlifter, professional wrestler, and film actor. He won a silver medal for the United States at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London in weightlifting. He was also an actor, with his most famous role as the villain Oddjob in the James Bond film Goldfinger. Karl Gerhart Gert Frobe (25 February 1913 - 5 September 1988) was a German film and stage actor. He is best known in English-speaking countries for his work as Auric Goldfinger in the James Bond film Goldfinger, as Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, as Baron Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, as Hotzenplotz in Der Räuber Hotzenplotz and Colonel Manfred von Holstein in Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. 1912 OLYMPIC GAMES Large format pictorial booklet issued after the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm with pictorial coverage of the Pentathlon and Decathlon , both won by Jim Thorpe (USA) who was of Indian descent. However Thorpe was stripped of both medals when it was revealed that he had been paid 25$ to play in Minor League baseball in 1910 and was thus classified as a professional. Neither of the two second placed athletes in these events would accept his medals. Thorpe died in 1953 and in 1983 he was pardoned and his medals were returned to his children. The booklet contains many pictures and stats of the 1912 Olympics. Good

1936 Berlin Olympics Porcelain Bell Housed in its Original Box, superb example of the porcelain bell produced by Staatliche Porcelain company Berlin. Complete with the original porcelain bell clanger and wooden stand. Relief to the front of Berlin Olympics emblem and the reverse Brandenburg Gate. The card box remains in very good condition overall with image of the bell and “OLYMPIADE BERLIN 1936”. Excellent un-damaged example.

OWENS JESSE: (1913-1980) American Athlete, famous for his participation at the Berlin Olympics in 1936 where he became the first American to win four Olympic Gold medals in track and field events. Vintage fountain pen ink signature ('Jesse Owens') on a neatly clipped triangular piece, evidently removed from a photograph, neatly laid down to a page removed from an autograph album alongside an irregularly clipped signed piece by snooker and billiards player Joe Davis. BERLIN OLYMPICS: A rare printed oblong 12mo card booklet containing six ticket stubs for the athletics events of 2nd - 9th August at the Berlin Olympiade 1936. Each ticket depicts the Olympic Stadium overprinted with Leichtathletik, the date, time of the event, ticket price and ticket number, the left edge giving further details of the entrance, block and seat number, together with a perforated portion to the right edge indicating the valid date and seating block, all of which are either partially or completely torn out. A small hole to the front cover, dust toning and light age wear. G Over 650,000 tickets were sold for the athletics events during the 7-days period it was being held, and it was during these events on the 3rd August that Jesse Owens won his gold medal in the 100mts dash, then on the 4th he won a gold medal in the long jump, on the 5th he won a gold medal in the 200mts sprint and on the 9th Owens won his fourth gold medal in the 4 x 100 sprint relay. Owens' record-breaking performance of four gold medals was not equalled until Carl Lewis won gold medals in the same events at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

TENNIS INTEREST: A SILVER TWIN HANDLED TROPHY CUP, by William Aitken, Chester, 1898, circular form, scroll handles, on a circular foot, and associated turned wooden stand, awarded to Arthur William Charles Wentworth Gore, inscribed "Won By A.W. GORE", "To Gladys & Norman, Souvenir of Wimbledon, 1924", 19.5cm high. Provenance: Gifted directly by Arthur Gore to the vendors grandparents. Arthur Gore won three singles titles at the Wimbledon Championship and was runner up a record 5 times. He won gold medals at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London and also competed at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm.
