- Almost £5,000 spent on restoration / improvement works in 2014 - Reputedly supplied new to the Danish Embassy and retains diplomatic badges - Comes complete with desirable registration plate '2 XKN' The Daimler Double Six was launched in 1972, and while the first generation six-cylinder Jaguar/Daimler XJ models were replaced by the XJ40 in 1986, the Double Six continued unchanged until 1993. This handsome-looking example of Jaguar/Daimler's 5.3-litre Series 3 masterpiece features Black bodywork complemented by a Magnolia-coloured hide interior. It was apparently first registered on October 1st 1990 and supplied new to the Danish embassy by Stratstone of Mayfair - the diplomatic and state badges are attached to its radiator grille to this day. The vendor acquired the Daimler at a 2013 Coys sale and has since invested almost £5,000 on repairs and restoration. It apparently served as an official VIP car for the London 2012 Olympics and has subsequently covered less than 400 miles - the odometer currently registers a total of 72,300 miles. The vendor now considers the car to have 'very good' V12 engine, automatic transmission and interior and 'excellent' body and paintwork, and is selling the vehicle complete with: the distinctive registration '2 XKN'; fitted indoor car cover; full service history including the original stamped service book; original handbook and sales brochure; and the vast majority of old MOT certificates, plus one valid to November 2nd 2016.
