All have official descriptions and are stamped Olympic Photo Association together with a rare cardboard control pass for Weightlifting events at Earls Court (approx 13)

The present medal comes from the 2nd Winter Maccabiah which was staged February 18th to 22nd, 1936, in Banska Bystrica the in Czechoslovakia. 2,000 athletes participated from 12 participating nations.This was to prove the last time a winter Maccabiah was held, with no attempts to revive it after the 2nd World War - although the Maccabi World Union still runs smaller regional winter games to date.

DISRAELI, Benjamin (1804-81) autograph letter signed on Hughenden Manor notepaper, dated September 7 1859, to W.P.Brookes. He regrets that there are no library editions of his works to be obtained and continues "I did not like to offer to your Institution a railway edition of any of my books". 3 pages, 4th side stuck to album page.Footnote: William Penny Brookes of Much Wenlock was the founder of the Wenlock Olympics, forerunner to the modern Olympic Games. He also established the Agricultural Reading Society in 1841 for the better education of farm workers. He solicited donations of books from authors and this is the reply to one such letter.
