An early 19th century mahogany and inlaid rectangular decanter box (lacking interior), height 24.5cm, width 21.5cm, depth 19.5cm, an amboyna and crossbanded rectangular lidded box with silk button interior, length 32cm and a further brass detailed small writing slope, width 25.5cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: The decanter box has a split to the back, has marks where someone has tried to force open the lid without using the key, surface scratches throughout, an entire vertical upright of crossbanding missing, general surface wear. The rectangular amboyna box has light surface scratches has a few old fleck repairs. Miniature writing box has been Heath Robinson made and is in poor condition.
A matched set of four silver decanter labels, three by Richards and knight, assayed London 1966, of oval shape with embossed scrolling leaf border, engraved "Brandy", "Scotch" and "Port", the forth by R E Porter, assayed Birmingham 1980, engraved "Sherry", all with neck chains, together with a similar silver decanter label, by C J Vander Ltd, assayed London 1959, engraved "Whisky", with chain for bottle neck. (gross weight 65.8g). (5)
