A large and heavy spirit decanter with gilt decoration (27.5cm high)Condition report - the stopper looks good no problems, cracks, chips or major scratches. The decanter is noted to be extremely heavy and on close inspection the body is square and slightly waisted starting larger and getting smaller towards the bottom. The condition appears to be very good with no problems, cracks, chips or restoration noted and the gilding still appears to be bright. There are some scratches to the underside of the foot commensurate with age as to be expected and on close inspection the item is actually signed St Louis (France). There is slight discolouration to the inside of the bottom which may well disappear with glass cleaner. The Auctioneer's opinion is that this is a very nice item indeed.
