A Scottish Iona silver 'Viking long boat' spoon, Iona Celtic Art, maker's mark AR (Alexander Ritchie), Birmingham 1932, the terminal with pierced Viking boat decoration, lower section of stem with Celtic knot decoration, 4¾in. Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co Cymric silver & enamel vesta case, hallmarked for William Hair Haseler, Birmingham, 1911, the front with raised circular quatrefoil and enamel circular boss in blue and green enamel, 1½in. (3.8cm.) long, 0.6 tr.oz. * During the 1890s, Liberty formed relationships with many leading English designers. In 1898, Liberty and Haseler created a formal partnership to launch the Cymric silver line under the title “Liberty and Co. (Cymric) Ltd.” using freelance designers. One of those designers, Archibald Knox (1864-1933), began designing for Liberty in 1899. He focused on the new Celtic design work for the Cymric range, whilst Haseler was responsible for making many of Knox’s designs. Knox was a highly gifted designer and is largely credited with the success of Cymric silverware. He continued to design for Liberty until 1912.** Condition: In very good condition, with clear hallmarks.

A Garnet and Baroque Pearl Cross Pendant on Chain Necklace, a large Celtic cross set throughout with vari-cut garnets and baroque pearls to applied leaf detail, to a conforming bail, on a continuous textured belcher chain, pendant measures 13cm by 10cm, chain length 70cm approximately and A Matching Ring, finger size P (2) see illustration The necklace and ring are in good condition. Not hallmarked or stamped, accompanied by a letter from The Assay Office, Birmingham, dated 24th August 1994, indicating that the necklace and ring are comprised of 9 carat gold and silver.
