A Majolica oil lamp, (probably by Minton), of baluster part lobed shape decorated in raised relief with gourd and vine leaves on a dark blue ground with gilt metal mounts, the base stamped "S Hinks & Son Limited" and "2451", fitted with a clear glass chimney and frosted green tinted wheel etched frill edged shade, 66 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Wear, dirt. Crazing to glaze. Unable to check base for makers marks due to metal mounted base. Shade and chimney appear to be later. Inner metal liner with dents and rusting. Some losses to the metal fitments which hold the chimney.
A 19th century brass and glass wall mounted oil lamp, the Gothic style bracket with rope twist column and C-scroll arm with cherubic decoration terminating in a circular pierced bowl housing a glass reservoir, clear glass flue and frosted wheel etched spherical shade CONDITION REPORTS General wear and scuffs. Chips and frits to lower edge / rim of shade, and some roughness to the top edge. Chimney with general wear but appears OK. Bowl with wear and some old chips to edges. Metal top cover section with some rusting and a hole to top, and some rusting and denting. Brass sections have some wear and rubbing, and some knocks, and some looseness to the joints, but otherwise appear OK.
