Label present to the arm and mould marks to the shade attachment.

A stunning early 20th century vintage industrial desk lamp having a stepped conical shade with ball joint and sweeping arm leading to an adjustable action on a further ball joint and raised on a cast ebonised metal base with trinket / ashtray section, the on / off switch to the base. The lamp bearing similarities to Kaiser Idell lamps. Measures 57cm high.
A c1895 George Polkey 'The Little Fire Ball' Oil Lamp Patented in 1892 and manufactured until 1905, a unique design that attempted to produce a light that would not be extinguished by wind or draft, the flame completely enclosed by glass. In fair condition, the original glass shade has cracked, and the yoke tightener is missing, otherwise sound, 5-inches (13cm) high. Also, a German made lamp with similar principles in mind, a 'Feuerhand Superbaby 175', being a combination hand lantern and bicycle lamp, with a side lever to raise the glass shade for lighting.
