Delecia Citrus - A Clarice Cliff shape 362 vase circa 1932 hand decorated with stylised fruit and foliage over a running Delecia ground, printed "Delecia" and Bizarre mark, height 20cm. Condition - No chips, cracks or restoration, few minor paint scuffs. [Delecia was originally created during 1929; it featured random colour runnings created by mixing paint with turpentine which had to flow in distinct colours down the shape - a tricky job for paintresses such as Elsie Griffin who worked on this pattern! Fruit and floral patterns further enhanced this idea, as shown on this 362 Delecia Citrus vase. This shape was sometimes converted at the factory into a lamp base by having a hole drilled into the side for the cable and the shade fitment was supported by a cork fitment in the vase neck. LG]
