A late 19th century brass oil lamp, hanging, with opaque glass shade. Height +/- 64 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shade appears to be in good condition with no significant damage. The very top lip has a few tiny nibbles as has the bottom edge which is recessed into the brass circumference. The glass chimney is in generally good condition with only the usual minor nibbles to the foot rim. The brasswork is all a little tarnished and whilst complete has lost much of its original lacquered finish.
A late 19th century oil lamp, with etched glass shade, clear reservoir and milk glass overlay column. Height including chimney 62 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shade is in good order with no chips to either the bottom or top lips. The chimney is not cracked but does have minor nibbles around the bottom edge as is typical. The burner mechanism appears to operate as it should, the wick adjusts and the snuffer operates. The reservoir is in good condition all round. The glass column beneath is in good order as is the brasswork which is only a little tarnished.
A 19th century brass and porcelain oil lamp, with etched and cut glass shade. Height including chimney 59 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shade has one small inner edge chip through the chamfered edge at the top. It is approximately 4 mm in length. The bottom edge has minor nibbles. There are no cracks and no other losses. The wick adjustment operates as it should as does the snuffer mechanism. The reservoir has still got paraffin in it and this appears to be leaking into the brass liner below. The ceramic base is in good condition with no visible cracks. All metalwork is present and in good order.
Three Victorian glass lamp shades, cranberry ball shape, green and yellow. Largest diameter 20 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The green shade is in good order with no issues. The yellow shade has one very small edge nibble but this is almost insignificant. The red shade is in good order with only very minor bottom edge rim nibbles. There are no cracks or chips to any of the three.
Three Victorian glass oil lamp shades, yellow, red and green. CONDITION REPORT: The red shade is in good order with no cracks or chips. Bottom diameter 10 cm. The green shade has no cracks or chips. Bottom internal diameter 92 mm. The yellow shade is in good order with no chips. There are some minor nibbles to the foot rim but nothing of any significance. Internal base diameter 92 mm.
A Victorian glass oil lamp shade, orange and etched, diameter +/- 16 cm, and a stain glass shade, diameter 16 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The orange shade is in good order with no chips or cracks. Internal base diameter 95 mm. The Queens Burmese type shade has several very small edge chips to the top wavy rim. The base rim is also slightly nibbled but has no significant issues, the base internal diameter is 13.5 cm.
Two Victorian oil lamp shades, green and foliate engraved. Each width +/- 20 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clear shade has one small upper edge chip to the top aperture and other very minor nibbles. The base edge has a more significant chip and a 2.5 cm crack emanating. There are other nibbles to the foot rim. Internal diameter 97 mm. The green shade has no chips to the top rim. There are no cracks, the base has one very small chip and the usual minor nibbles. Internal diameter 95 mm.
A retro glass two-part lamp shade comprising smaller bell-shaped section attaching to a large shallow dish with yellow metal rim, diameter approx 55cm. CONDITION REPORT Overall good condition. There are minor losses to the finish of the brass rim and minor chipping to the joining sections. Sold electrically untested.
19th century brass and glass columnular oil lamp with bi-coloured etched globe shade and clear chimney,H: 66 cm, and another example. This lot is not available for in-house P&P. Condition report: No major damage to any of the items no chips cracks, the base has been repaired on one. Has been used and would benefit from a clean also a little loss of paint due to rubbing.
