Gimson walnut table lamp having tapered and ring turned octagonal column with lozenge faceted centre section, on domed octagonal foot, 49cm high and the cream satin shade This collection comes from the late Arthur Mitchell from the brewers, Mitchell & Butler, who commissioned many of the pieces directly from Gimson, Barnsley and Peter Waals. He was a strong supporter of the Cotswold School and a good friend of Edward Barnsley, son of Sidney Barnsley. Arthur Mitchell lived in Cheltenham at Glenfall House and pieces from his collection are also to be found at the Cheltenham Wilson Art Gallery Museum in the Arts and Crafts Department
