Lot No: 40 - Ref No: 026 Future Guardians By Vanessa Worrall - Halt Studios ''The inspiration behind this piece is the natural beauty of Dartmoor. The sculpture highlights the flora, fauna and some of the endangered species within Dartmoor, Barbastelle Bats, Blue Ground Beetle, Marsh Fritillary Butterflies. It is to remind future generations the importance of looking after the environment and local habitat. The sun sets on the proud mother otter protecting her pup and looking towards the future. Dawn breaks on the pup and with it comes new beginnings and a new generation to protect Dartmoor life. This sculpture is a wonderful project to be part of and I hope it brings many visitors the same joy I experienced when painting it.'' Vanessa Worrall paints at Halt Studios situated at her home within the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Inspired by land and seascape, Vanessa's oil paintings respond to the balance of light between day and night, the silhouettes, textures and colours of her locality are a constant inspiration. Vanessa's work has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Show, London 2020 and she also exhibits her work locally at Talent Gallery, Wellington, Somerset.
