Attributed to Paul Sandby RA, British 1731-1809- "Southampton"; pen and grey/black ink and watercolour wash, bears inscription on the mount, 12.5x20.5cm., (unframed) CONDITION REPORT: Unframed It is stuck down onto mount board with hand painted boarders and bearing inscription which in turn is stuck down to backing mount Reverse of backing mount board is grubby with loss of left corner and substantial tear to top right Overall brown Verse recto The mount has foxing throughout, rough edges Inscription in pencil drawing Large semi-circular discolouration possible water damage which extends from bottom edge to arching of figures in foreground The hand drawn mount with creasing in lower left corner appears to have been affected by water damage The image has early signs of foxing Slightly browned in top left corner Indentation to left of image Overall the drawing is in fair condition

*Norman Mansbridge (1911-1993) 'MARRIAGE GUIDANCE' Signed and inscribed, pen and ink and watercolour 17.5 x 18.5cm; and four others by the same hand; Terence Parkes, 'Larry' (1927-2003) 'MOTORIST IN PRISON' Signed and inscribed, pen and ink and watercolour 36 x 31cm overall; and seven further cartoons by other hands, various sizes, all unframed (15) Norman Mansbridge was in advertising before becoming a freelance cartoonist, contributing his first drawing to Punch in 1937. After the outbreak of war, he joined the Merchant Navy and was also given a roving commission as a war artist. After the war, Mansbridge returned to work for the News Chronicle, Men Only, Sunday Times, Radio Times, Lilliput, Daily Sketch and Birmingham Post, largely producing single drawings featuring an absurdist view of normal life. In 1958 he was elected a member of the Punch Table, and became the magazine's political cartoonist. *Artist's Resale Right may apply to this lot.

Freedom from Torture, formerly the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, has been working for 25 years to provide direct clinical services to survivors of torture who arrive in the UK, as well as striving to protect and promote their rights.

SP A fine black and white, full length official photograph by Anthony Buckley of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, signed in ink on lower margin ""Elizabeth R."" and ""Philip"" and dated 1961. Light foxing to white borders, but otherwise a very attractive picture of the royal couple. Framed and glazed, 56 x 70cm, overall size approximately 84 x 63cm. Published by Raphael Tuck and Sons. The picture was taken in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace after a visit of the Queen and the Duke to India. Accompanied by two typed letters and a handwritten note stating that the signed picture was a thank you gift to Major General W. H. A. Bishop in Calcutta for the ""faultless arrangements"" he had made ""for the large reception given for them at the Turf Club"" on the 18th of Febraury 1961. Anthony Buckley, one of the major English portraitists, was the royal photographer throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

Gilt-bordered crowned ciphers of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh surrounded by the Order of the Garter`s motto to front cover. With printed greetings ""With Best Wishes For Christmas And The New Year"" and the Queen`s signature in blue ink ""Elizabeth R 1963"". Opposite the signed page is a mounted colour photograph of Camillo Procaccini`s red chalk drawing ""The Adoration of the Shepherds"" from the Royal Collections. Overall size 24.6 x 36.7cm when opened. Light wear and creasing to margins and corners, but otherwise in good condition.

Some age toning. A note on 27 x 21cm paper, written and signed in ink by Robert Browning and addressed to George Morreale (""with Robert Browning`s kind regards to Goerge Morreale. London, March 12.b"") accompanied by the original envelope with address written by Browning`s hand. Mailing folds. Sold with five caricatures in ink on paper, various sizes and an invitation to Christie and Manson`s preview of the collection of Thomas E. Plint in 1862. An excellent collection.
ANS An autograph poem entitled ""Jealousy"" ANS An autograph poem entitled ""Jealousy"", written and signed in blue ink by Robert Graves on white paper, approximately 44 x 28.5cm and dated May 4th 1970. It reads ""I`d die for you and you for me / So furious is our jealousy / And if you doubt this to be true / Kill me at once lest I kill you"". Beneath the poem is a drawing in black ink of a weeping eagle with a butterfly net and a fly, with the Latin statement in capital letters ""Aquila non captat muscas"". The drawing is by Graves`s daughter Catherine Dalton and is dated May 9th 1970. Light yellowing to paper and minor browning to edges. Some smudges to poem`s title.
