An unusual early 20th Century German inkwell, in the form of a tapering oval box on turned feet, being scaled by two dressed rats, one with an axe and one with a dagger, with a hinged acorn and oak leaf cover and a coat of arms emblazoned on one side, inscribed 'Herr Richard Braun, 10 Mai 1910', c.1910 45in (11.5cm) wide, 10oz.
A William III cylindrical counter box, the pull-off, pierced cover, the sides engraved with a coat of arms* and containing a rare, complete set of thirty-six counters of the Kings & Queens of England, (after Simon Van de Passe) namely Edward the Confessor, Harold, William I, William II, Henry I, Stephen, Henry II, Richard I, John, Henry III, Edward I, Edward II, Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V, Edward IV, Edward V, Richard III, Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James I, Charles I and Henrietta Maria; together with Henry, Earl of Darnley, Mary, Queen of Scots, Queen Anne of Denmark, Henry, Prince of Wales, Charles, Prince of Wales (later Charles II), Frederick of Bohemia, Queen Elizabeth of Bohemia and Prince Charles Louis of Bohemia. The box engraved underneath with the scratchweight '1-6', maker's mark only 'G enclosing A' for Francis Garthorne, London c. 1700, box 1in (2.75cm) high, 3.75oz. * Arms probably of Robert of Glastonbury, Nr Cranbrook, Kent, with Canton ermine to show a subdivision of that family.
A set of ten George II dinner plates, of shaped circular outline with gadroon borders, re-bordered and re-marked, by Andrew Fogelberg, London 1772 and engraved with a continental coat-of-arms and a motto "Wier Weislich Dort Giucklich" (the bases with scratchweights) 9.5in (24.25cm) 162oz. (10)
A George II kettle on stand with detachable burner, the kettle of inverted baluster form with an insulated swing handle with a chased, upper body and engraved coat of arms and crest, the stand on three shell feet with an openwork apron of masks and festoons, by Thomas Whipham, London 1742, 13.3in (34cm) high, 52oz.

A rare William III tubular sealing wax case, with a screw cover and a seal terminal with a coat of arms intaglio* the cover inscribed "M. F given her by E.F 1761", maker's mark only, by David Tanquery, c. 1700, 3.75in (9.5cm) long, 2.25oz. Arms of Finch probably for Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Aylesford (d. June 1719). He had several children - eldest son also Heneage (d. June 1757), eldest daughter Elizabeth. This Heneage had four children - eldest son also Heneage, eldest daughter Mary. With reference to the inscription on this sealing wax case, it seems entirely likely that Elizabeth gave it to her niece Mary.
A pair of George I pepper casters, of octagonal vase form, with high domed covers and slender knop finials, the bodies engraved with a later coat of arms and one scratched with the initials 'T' over 'AM', underneath: the other with the initial 'W' by Thomas Bamford I, London 1719, 5in (12.75cm) high, 7oz. A Meissen chinoiserie group circa 1755 modelled by J.J. Kaendler, P. Reinicke and F. E. Meyer, as a seated lady in a yellow ground coat patterned with indianische Blumen over a puce skirt, her right arm supporting a young boy dressed in a puce-lined coat and turquoise breeches sitting on her lap holding two drum sticks, set on a mound base with encrusted flowers and leaves in striped magenta, yellow and red crossed swords in underglaze-blue 14cm., 5in. cymbal and fingers on left hand missing, figure to left missing, some other damage and restoration This group is one of a series of chinoiserie groups modelled between 1750 and 1755. It may be based on a print after Francois Boucher, whose work is known to have inspired other groups from this series, often referred to as the 'Les Delices de L'Enfance' series Literature A similar model was sold at Sotheby's, London, 15th June 1993 lot 209

The Coronation dress of Dr. John Dodson, one of the Barons chosen to carry the canopy over King George IV at his Coronation 1821, (Britain's most extravagant Coronation). The doublet, breeches and sur coat is of Jacobean style in red and blue silk with red stockings (the white shoes and black bonnet are not present). Very Good Condition (shoulder bow tassels shortened on one side, minor wear and damage, a few small holes to stockings). Note: Doctor John Dodson (1780-1858), 1819-1823 Tory MP for Rye, appointed by the Duke of Wellington to the Office of Advocate to the Admiralty Court. Advocate General in 1834 and Knighted at St James's Palace in the same year, became Master of Faculties in 1841 and Vicar General in 1849. Judge of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury 1852 and Dean of Arches Court until his death. His only son, John George Dodson, was elected MP for East Sussex in 1857 and created Lord Monk Bretton in 1884.

Charles Wood, Jamaica, c. 1760 - a fine and rare waiter with shaped shell and scroll border on three hoof feet, engraved with contemporary coat of arms within rococo cartouche surmounted by a Baron's coronet (two marks to underside: CW; alligator's head - also each of the three hoof feet marked) traces of weight? lightly engraved to underside (8/9;9) - small casting flaw to reverse of rim and light surface scratching.
