A Meissen porcelain figure of a fruit picker, late 19th/early 20th Century, modelled as a boy wearing an orange frock coat and striped purple breeches carrying a basket of grapes in his left hand and another on his back, raised on a gilt enriched scroll moulded base, crossed swords in underglaze blue to base with impressed and painted marks, height approx 13.5cm (minor faults).
A George III mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass breakarch dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture framed by a chapter ring with Roman numerals, cornered with coat of arms spandrels, beneath a circular boss to arch inscribed 'Smoult and Gilbertson, Newcastle', the arched hood with pierced fretwork pediment surmounted with three gilt metal ball finials, the trunk with crossbanded arched door flanked by canted corners above a crossbanded base cornered with leaf inlay, on bracket feet, height approx 227cm (some faults).

[N.p.: n.d. but most signatures circa 1790-1890.] Folio (276 x 224mm.) The majority of signatures taken from envelope fronts and mounted beside a brief manuscript biography, often accompanied by a manuscript coat-of-arms and occasionally an engraved portrait, all on red- ruled card. (Some light spotting, browning or soiling.) Late 19th Century diced calf (somewhat rubbed, extremities scuffed, spine worn). Note: the signatories include Charles William Vane-Stewart, Earl of Londonderry; Cropley Ashley Cooper, 6th Earl of Shaftesbury; Thomas Spring Rice, Lord Monteagle; Sir Dighton Macnaughten Probyn, William Saunders Seebright Lascelles, William Howard Russell, Samuel Rawson Gardiner, Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan, Sir William Boyd Dawkins, William Harcourt, Sir William Digby Wyatt, etc.

A scrimshaw decorated whale's tooth, inscribed 'FIJI OCTOBER 10TH' above the Fiji coat of arms and flanked by the dates '1874 and 1924', 9.75in (25cm) l. The cession of Fiji to the United Kingdom was signed on October 10th 1874. The above decoration commemorates the first 50 years. The Coat of arms of Fiji was granted by Royal Letters Patent on 4 July 1908.
