MARIA` and an Anglo-Indian ivory and sadeli box. (7)

What must be the ultimate in brass framed braces, this silver plated brace engraved E SIMPSON & Co Glasgow with figured Brazilian rosewood infill and handle, the screw cap in the ivory head bears the Coat of Arms of the Sheffield Cutlers Company so was undoubtedly produced in Sheffield. This brace was a star piece in the Reg Eaton Collection and latterly in the David Russell collection (illustrated Russell fig 1493 and TUB p136) previously sold our Cat No 44. F
