Lectures on the Morbid Anatomy of the Serous and Mucous Membranes, volumes 1 & 2, Part 1 [all published], 1st editions, Sherwood, Gilbert and Piper; Simpkin, Marshall & Co, 1836-40, publisher's advert leaf at rear of each volume, some spotting and dust soiling, contemporary ownership inscriptions to front free endpapers, and later ballpoint pen signature beneath signature in volume 2, inner hinges cracked, original ribbed cloth, volume 1 with remains of printed paper label to spine, somewhat rubbed and soiled and chipped at head of spine with slight loss, volume 2 rubbed and lacking backstrip, 8voQty: (2)NOTESGarrison & Morton 2290. Hodgkin's Lectures on the Morbid Anatomy stimulated the study of tissue pathology in England. He is best known for his classic description of Hodgkin's lymphoma but published only a few medical works during his brief medical career which ended in 1837.

The first box containing a brushed finish ink pen and ballpoint pen; the second box containing dark grey brushed finish ink pen and ballpoint pen, the third box contains stainless steel fountain pen with full ink cartridge, the fourth box contains a bronze-colour fountain pen, the fifth box contains a stainless steel pencil (incorrect box) and the sixth box contains stainless steel Sheaffer pencil and roller-ball pen and the seventh box contains a Shaeffer fountain pen in a Parker box.

* Burroughs (William Seward, 1914-1997). American Writer and Visual Artist. Autograph Postcard signed, 'William S. Burroughs', postmarked Kansas, 23/24 January 1995, to Grahame White of Brighton, East Sussex, thanking him for 'the Underworld and the old book, the fact that it is battered increases its interest...', wishing White the best for 1995, written and addressed in black ballpoint pen, the recto showing a reproduction photograph of William Burroughs at City Lights Bookstore, San Francisco, 1982, from a photograph by Christopher Felver, together with an autograph note signed, 20 April 1995, also to White, thanking him for the tea 'and the beautiful nostalgic spoon. Everyone here is of course, alarmed by the bomb in Oklahoma City and no wonder. What can one do but brew some tea', written in black fibre pen on both inside pages of a folded white card with a digital scan of a three-quarter length photograph of Burroughs on the front and 'Lawrence, Kansas' logo on the back, plus the original postmarked envelope addressed in Burroughs' handQty: (3)
