An 18th century 30-hour, Liege oak longcase clock, brass and steel dial, signed to the arch 'Repare par D D J Lambermont a Liege', with alarm dial, 247 cm high.Provenance: The contents of The Birches, Kingston-upon-ThamesPendulum and single-weight present. The posted movement seems to run through when tension is applied to the chains but I can not vouch for its reliability or accuracy, the dial shows some signs of being removed and refixed, and the pendulum suspension spring has been adapted.I don't think this movement and case started life together and would suggest that the clock is a marriage albeit a decorative one and its components come from the late 18th century, I have tried to find the name in Loomes/ G.H Baillie's Watchmakers of the world but nothing was found. To sum up the clock has seen some adaptation and is not a purist's piece and I think it would be safe to suggest this will need work to make good .
