A Brass Engraved Porcelain Mounted Striking and Repeating Carriage Clock with Alarm, signed Drocourt, circa 1890, elaborately engraved with floral decoration, carrying handle and repeat button, dark blue porcelain side panels with central painted scenes depicting figures in costume, painted porcelain dial with Roman numerals and with an indistinct retailers signature, alarm dial, twin barrel movement with a later platform escapement, striking on a blued steel gong, movement backplate stamped with Drocourt's trade mark DC within a cartouche and numbered 13072, 18cm high over handle see illustration 18.10.18, Porcelain sides panels with the gilt decorated borders rubbed, nearly all the enamel dots to the outer borders of the panels are missing, dial with one crack to the top left hand corner, dial with indistinct retailers signature, later platform escapement, balance is swinging.

Ltd., Royal Exchange, London with complications, in Anglaise case, the signed white enamel dial with Roman chapter ring enclosing a crescent above 6, showing the phases of the moon, three subsidiary dials beneath displaying the days of the week, the hours for the alarm and the date of the month, the French twin train 11 jewel movement signed 'Angelus', striking the hours and half hour on a gong, 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high plus handle.* Condition: Winds and runs. Strike and repeat working well. Dial excellent. Case good with some spotted tarnishing to the brass. With key.
