The Art of Dialling..., ?third edition, wood-engravings in text, soiled, fore-edge chipped with substantial loss to margins, title with slight loss of text, parchment in late 19th century cloth boards, 4to, London: Felix Kingston, 1627 [STC 10680] This copy appears to have been trimmed with an especially generous fore-edge in excess of 40mm. Several past owners have taken advantage and there are extensive annotations; some calculating dates, others noting events, 'June 28 1804. Saw shooting with bow and arrows cum Johanne June 27 1794 at Wavertree...' and 'Sept 8 1812 in war ever Since. No hope of Peace', with the entries seemingly random and compulsive. The rounding of pages and soiling is extreme, but the printed text appears complete, save the slight loss to the title-page.
