An early hand-crank cellist musical automaton,French, circa 1860,The seated boy cellist with finely painted bisque head, inset blue blues and closed mouth, composition heads, holding cello and bow, dressed in fully original silk clothes of green/gold shirt, lace and ribbon cravat, beige and star pattern velvet jacket, with matching breaches and plain stockings with black shoes, when crank is turned, a long single air is played and ha turns head from side-to-side as right bow arm glides across the cello strings, on ebonised box base with colour matrix panel and raised gilt paper edge, cross-maze gilt paper covered sides – 12” high, 9” deep.
A Manoville violinist automaton,Circa 1890, Playing a single air, with crank drive, violinist standing atop with painted bisque head, glass eyes, dressed in gilt trimmed conical hat, blue silk jacket, cream shirt, red breeches and blue shoes, holding violin and bow, turning head from side-to-side, moving bow across strings and tapping right foot up and down to the music, Manoville red painted tinplate case with oval study of the Swiss herder, on triple gilt pressed mask feet, crank with white porcelain handle – 10” high.

The violin 60 cm long. (2) CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, some expected wear, wear to case, bow strings lacking.
A fine quality late 19th/early 20th century French silver mounted acid etched glass biscuit barrelThe removable lid embossed with trailing foliage and bow tied swags centred with initials, the main body decorated in the round with gilt heightened trailing foliage. 15.5 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Some traces of gilding, the lid interior gilded with some wear, some gilt wear to glass section, wear to base, general wear.

To be used as a guide only. arm lacking. Feathers lacking from his head. One foot repaired. Some loss to the bocage.

A George III mahogany bow front chest on chest. With oval lacquered brass handles, ebony banding and raised on splay bracket supports, 1m 77cm high, 1m 11cm wide, 52cm deep. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Damage to both side mouldings on the base chest. Veneer chips and cracks to the sides. Wear to the bracket supports.
