A 19th Century Parian Ware bust of Richard Cobden By Edward William Wyon the gentleman wearing a blazer and tie raised upon a socle base, impressed marks, registered June 27th, 1865, 42cms high x 32cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1760 Minor surface rubbing to head and face, abrasive scratch to the edge of the bow-tie, circular base loose, minor surface scratching to the raised areas of the coat, otherwise good condition.
A choice mahogany dial clock signed Mathew & Thomas Dutton, London, early 19th Century The 30cm convex white dial signed Matt & Thos Dutton, London with Roman numerals, pierced blued hands, convex brass bezel, the four pillar single gutt fusee movement with A shaped plates, anchor escapement with bob pendulum, the case with a moulded border, hinged side door and bottom door with door key, winding key and pendulum. 36cms. Bears a signature added later. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2095: the brass bezel good condition, minor play in the hinge, glass good condition appears to be original, the dial bow front, scratching and enamel chipping around the three fastening screws and traces of paint around the border covering up other minor chips and scratches, some scratches to the centre of the dial around the winding aperture, star shaped crack just below Roman numerals twelve o'clock, overall surface scratching, in keeping locking key for bezel, mahogany border in good condition, wooden screws probably replaced, bottom hinge door hinges good condition, right hand side door hinges good condition, minor chip to the right hand angle of the door, period pendulum and period winding key. Bears a signature added later.
An interesting pair of carved oak figural terms, 17th Century style Each rendered in full length, the first carved with a cleated ruff wearing doublet and hose holding a hat in his right hand, carved shoes raised upon a rectangular plinth carved with letters possibly from the Greek alphabet. 66cms, the companion figure wearing a plain collar doublet and hose, with a wide brimmed hat in his left hand each shoe with a carved bow raised upon a square plinth with similar letters. 66cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Two figural terms, the figure with the pleated ruff good colour, the plinth with a section missing approx. 7x3cms, otherwise no breaks or repairs. The companion figure, plinth is taller, the figure in good condition, no breaks, good colour, white stress crack to the underside, the figure with the plain collar, the plinth is taller than the companion, it measures 8x16x15cms, the other with the pleasted rough measures 5x16x17cms. Each good colour. very decorative.
A 19th Century inlaid mahogany bowfront side table With a frieze drawer, brass ring handles raised upon tapering legs inlaid with chequering and lyne inlays, 76x82x51cms. CONDITION REPORT: Condition Report Lot 2223 Bow front top ring marks and dark staining patches some scratching and dinting wear to a circular patch near the back approximately 13cm diameter, some fading to the left. Brass handles old with old nut and bolt fixing but possibly replaced traces of roundel marks behind the outer brass handle, good figuring to the frieze drawer, each side good condition, surface scratching to the lower part of the legs, feet scuffing minor, some old worm holes on the back pine board.
A George III style mahogany wing elbow chair With padded back out swept wing arms bow front padded seat raised upon front mahogany cabriole legs joined by baluster and block side stretchers, outswept rear legs 113cm high, width of seat 74cm. CONDITION REPORT: Sound construction, some movement in the left hand arm but not broken, movement in the right hand arm but not broken. Supports scratched, some fading but sound and in good condition.
A George IV and later inlaid mahogany bow front sideboard With a cross banded and inlaid top above a frieze drawer flanked by a cupboard door enclosing later drawers and a deep drawer, later brass oval handles raised upon tapering triangular legs terminating in splayed feet, inlaid with pendant hair bells overall inlaid with satin wood ebony and line inlays with alterations. 89.5cm x 162cm x 66cm (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The bowfront sideboard - the brass rail missing off the back with three roundel and oval holes in the back where it would have been supported these have now been infilled, minor veneer missing the the left hand side approx. 1cm front minor pieces of veneer missing approx. 1.5cms, very minor stringing missing to right hand side, the left hand side showing some Edwardian chalk polish, good condition right hand side good condition, showing traces of chalk polish minor fading the front right hand cupboard door possibly replaced oval handles, inside 2 later frieze drawers, centre bowfront drawer handles again replaced, original drawer linings, left hand side frieze drawer replaced handle, escutcheon loose, minor ebony stringing to the outer edge missing, minor, the drawer interior two horizontal pieces of the sides of the drawer cut out approx 11x3.5cms, original linings, good colour, some fading to legs, scratching to legs, no breaks.
An early 20th century bird's eye maple veneered Louis XVI style bedroom suite comprising of kneehole dressing table, with oval bevelled mirror above a central frieze drawer between two short proud drawers to each side raised on turned, slender tapering front legs. 120cm wide, along with a bergere tub dressing stool with heart shaped buttoned seat pad, 56cm wide and a bow front night cupboard with single drawer above an open shelf and cabinet below, raised on short turned and tapering front legs. 51cm wide, a double bedstead with arched top rail and gilt metal mounts, 160cm wide and a fitted wardrobe en suite, 188cm wide.
