British 1796 pattern Infantry officer's sword, pipe backed single edged blade, 70cm (distressed) gilt folding double shell guard, knuckle bow, urn pommel and wood grip lacking wire; also a 1796 pattern Light Cavalry officer's sword, curved single edged blade, 84cm, damascened with trophies, close plated iron hilt on langets, down turned quillon and stirrup bow, fish skin grip (no binding). (2).

About extremely fine.
INDIAN COINS, Ancient Coinage, Magadha Janapada (c.500-400 BC), Silver Karshapana (2), 3.43g and 3.38g, Series I, five major marks with the sun impressed three times in error, bankers marks: bow and arrow, large sun and turtle (Rajgor series 12; GH Series I, 86). Highly unusual error, extremely fine, extremely rare. (2)

Small flan, very fine.

About very fine, a rare variety.
INDIAN COINS, Gupta Empire Coinage, Chandragupta II, Gold Dinar 7.82g, Archer type, legend around, Candra below arm of king standing left holding bow and arrow, garuda standard in field left, rev Sri Vikramah, Lakshmi seated facing on lotus holding flower and riband (cf BMC 88; Mitch AC 4796-4807). Broad flan, very fine.
INDIAN COINS, Gupta Empire Coinage, Kumaragupta I (c.414-455), Gold Dinar 7.68g, Archer type, Kumara on right outside bow, king standing left holding bow by the middle, the bowstring outwards, Garuda standard on left, rev goddess seated facing on lotus holding flower and riband (BMC 196ff, pl.XII 8ff). Fine.

Flan crack, otherwiseabout extremely fine.

Very fine.

Almost extremely fine, scarce. this is the prototype of the Post-Gupta coinage of Bengal

COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, France,Georges Tonnellier (1858-1937), sculptor, medallist and engraver of cameos, a pair of Hardstone Cameos, carved in sardonyx and believed to be Tonnellier and his wife, she to right, her hair tied back, her dress fixed with brooch, signed behind, G+TONNELLIER+1894, 47mm; he to left in jacket and small bow-tie, 46mm (cf BDM VI, 112). Handsome ‘fin de siècle’ pieces, painstakingly executed, extremely fine. Tonnellier was a student of Charles Gauthier and Aimé Millet, and throughout his career received a number of medals for works exhibited in the Salon. A number of his cameos are in the Musée Galliera and a memorial statuette for the sinking of the Titanic (1912) is in the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore.
COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, Italy, Pisa, Medallist signing I. FR. A. S., cast Bronze Portrait Medal of Girolamo Papponi (1526-1605), bearded bust right in open gown, wearing a medal suspended on ribband, rev Arion stands on dolphin in choppy sea, holding a violin and bow, ÆSTVM SVPE …, 63mm (Barg III, 800). A clear and probably contemporary cast, very fine and with a hint of a further signature on the truncation. Papponi, a Professor at the Universty of Pisa was with the Opera della Primaziale (1558-1605)
