Two Repousse Pair Cased Verge Pocket Watches, signed Wm Byfield, London, circa 1780, gilt fusee movement signed and numbered 2904, later enamel dial, later hands, plain gilt metal inner case, outer gilt metal repousse case, back cover with two classical figures within a scroll frame, 48mm wide, the second, signed Brown, London, 1763, gilt fusee movement signed and numbered 3128, pierced balance bridge, square baluster pillars, later enamel dial, later hands, plain inner case with a London hallmark, outer white metal repousse case, back cover with classical figures and a scroll and floral border, 53mm wide 28.12.17, the first. The gilt metal surfaces are rubbed and discoloured, later bow and pendant, case back with small splits and the figures are rubbed and worn, later dial with one hairline crack, later hands, movement winding smoothly, movement in going order. The second, Both inner and outer cases with surface scratches and dents, outer case back with several small holes, central scene is rubbed and worn to the figures, outer case bezel with small holes in parts, outer case hinge with play, inner case maker's mark is rubbed, later dial with scratches and small chips to the centre, later hands, movement needs cleaning, movement is fully wound and not working.
A Silver Full Hunter Pocket Watch and a Silver Open Faced Pocket Watch, the first, lever movement signed Ashworth, Rochdale, dust cover, enamel dial with Roman numerals, seconds dial, full hunter case with maker's mark TW, London hallmark for 1865, 47mm wide, the second, lever movement signed Payne, 163 New Bond Street London and numbered 5339, enamel dial with Roman numerals, seconds dial, maker's mark HWJW, cuvette with engraved presentation inscription, London hallmark for 1845, 47mm wide, (2) 03.11.17, Full hunter pocket watch case with surface scratches and minor dent marks,engine turned covers with slight rubbing to the edges, later bow, seconds dial with one minor chip, winding smoothly, movement in going order, the other pocket watch case with surface scratches and small dents in parts, cuvette with engraved presentation inscription, dial edge with one small chip between 12 & 1, balance swings for a short time and then stops.
A good 18th century stone bow with red walnut frame and steel detail, inscribed 'H.W. Mortimer & Son, 89, Fleet St, London', the reverse inscribed 'Gun Makers to His Majesty', the upper section decorated with an archer holding a crossbow with further detailing of seated hounds and foliate scrolls with checkered stock and engraved butt, length 73cm. An early 19th century naval boarding cutlass, with ribbed grip and figure of eight guard, length of blade 73.5cm. Heavily pitted throughout with some chips and nicks to the blade edge. Appears to have been repaired, probably welded back together, kinks at point of crease, slight bow to right and slight warping towards the edge, mostly to upper half of blade.
A late 17th century court sword, with cut steel decoration, modern replaced disc guard and engraved triangular sectioned blade with traces of gilding, length of blade 79cm. There is some residue around the guard meeting the grip which may indicate a possible old repair. As mentioned, the disc guard is a modern replacement. General surface wear. The knuckle bow has been repaired where it meets the pommel but this was done some time ago. General light pitting to the blade.
An early 18th century court sword, with cut steel decoration, captive bead decoration to the guard and with triangular sectioned blade retaining original blue and gilt engraved detail, with partial scabbard, length of blade 81cm.
