[NELSON HORATIO]: (1758-1805) British Admiral during the Napoleonic Wars, the victor of the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. A circular wooden trinket box commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar and with two circular bands of engraved metal to the lid with extensive engraving stating that the box was made from an original timber of HMS Phoebe and listing the various ships of war she captured. With a brass interior and engraving, ’Presented to the Royal Naval Club by Captn. Richd. Meredith R.N. who served his time as Midn. In HMS Phoebe’ and date 20th September 1842. A few minor faults and a crack in the wooden base. G
